Robin Williams' departure upset me a great deal. A guy who's you tube clips helped me to find a happy place during my periods of blue. A guy who I thought was a comic genius. A guy who also walked the line between genius and Madness, happiness and sadness...and it was to much...RIP

An inspiration to me... God Bless you. Oh Captain My Captain

every Wednesday our job site (the only in the 6 all up on our site) where pink high vis shirts for charity and each month choose a cause to support and get the people from the other sites we walk past when we go up to the contractors office that put shit on us about it we pull up straight, explain what it is for and make them give up their coins for it. It is a $10 fine for any of us who forget to wear it. THis month is for mates in construction battling against depression. Been a fair few suicides lately that were doing FIFO. Some pretty gut wrenching stuff in the toolbox talk we had

They have more in October than any other month of the year.

Depression is a f**king merkin, and I wish - I so, so, so wish - that medicine and society could combine to f**k it right off.

Alas, if it were that easy...

I wasn't Williams' biggest fan as a performer, but I had enormous respect for him, and I am shocked and saddened by his death.

May you find the peace and serenity you were searching for, Robin - you thoroughly deserve it.

It took a lot of time and a lot of lows before I felt confident enough to talk to somebody about it. It actually took a girlfriend to push me to seek help before I realised it wasn't just normal for me to feel so down.

There's definitely a global problem with it being perceived as a weakness and men trying to tough it out on their own, probably not even knowing that it's more than just generic sadness.

People love me at work again. Yay.

Had a day of contrasts.

Up early, went in and got set up for NewStart, bought shoes for the wedding I'm to attend, got an adapter for my Chinese electronics, had a healthy breakfast and lunch, saw a movie, and bought healthy food for dinner.

Spent most of the day swinging violently between anxiety attack and feelings of utter hopelessness.
