first ive heard of this, horrible news. One of the best comedians that will ever walk this earth but no other comedian has or will be able to go from stand up to doing something like mork and mindy which was basically just him with blank scripts that required very little actual acting and then give a performace like good morning vietnam. A truly talented individual and even into his 50's would put his body through hell after abusing it with substances for a few decadeds to run in as many charity marathons as he possibly can and was one of the first celebrities to hand over a million dollar check to help out after the towers went down.

Also helped Chirstopher Reeves and family financially after the accident.

Reportedly sent him broke.

Terrible news and a huge loss not just to the entertainment industry, but society in general.

I say this thread needs a name change to honour Mork from Ork

Wouldn't have watched a movie with him in it for years, still pretty sad about this one, despite not generally being too concerned over celebrity deaths. Very sad. Suicide is a horrible thing

Done. Didn't know that about his help of Christopher Reeve.

Incredibly sad as I loved his acting. He seemed less like a celebrity and more like an average guy who was incredibly funny, loved people and for that people he had a profile.

So sad :(

Depressing. I loved a lot of his movies.

The Fisher King is worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

He did serious as well as he did funny. A tremendously gifted actor. Depression seems to be a curse for so many funny people.

so devo

I liked him more as a stand up. He was one of the main instigators of improv, he just stood there and blurted it all out as distinct from rehearsed comedy.

Gonna miss him.

Come to think of it I've probably seen more movies with Robin Williams in them than any other actor.
