One of the female soldiers i knew was the pitcher for the Aust Army womens softball team, man facing one of her pitches (or whatever the underarm throw in softball is) was highly uncomfortable and very scary.

Step 1: read NRL forum.

Step 2: listen as brain cells explode.

It's like those popping candies that go off in your mouth (the chocolate kind, not Bunniesman's kind). It's like millions of tiny voices cry out in terror and are suddenly silenced.

Siddle is close. Patto when fit.

But yeah those three are the locks. Although im a bit sceptical about Watson continued role. Adelaide showed we really need his bowling, even before Pattinson went down, but there are reasonable question marks over his ability to stay fit enough to continue bowling and his ability to balance batting and bowling (given the slide his batting has taken as his bowling workload increased under Clarke).

What really needs to happen is a number three to emerge/Clarke go further up the order, so Watson doesnt have to bat till 5/6.

Well said and basically how I see it as well.

Injuries are the only issues holding Patto & Cummins back. Both would be there if they could remain fit.

Siddle belongs in a group with Warner, Harris & Lyon in that they're in the mix but not certainties.

While we're on the topic of sport, I was completely fine with the Storm's punishment. They lost a ton of talent (around 20 players in 2010 alone) and had to buy scraps just to field a side. They don't deserve to be punished for their smart recruitment post-scandal, they're the champions and that's the bottom line really.

I wouldnt be picking Harris again, cant bowl two innings in a match, let alone consecutive tests. Unfortunate for him.

I can't bat in the nets at all the season. I will never be selected for Australia :(.
I have been batting okay in the middle, but in the nets I can't hit a thing.

My nets bowling has been good though so there is something going for me

You couldn't get a game for any side Justin Langer coaches. He demands excellence in the nets.

Warner not a certainty? What the bloody hell does he have to do to become one? Surely he has more runs on the board (literally and figuratively) than Cowan, at the very least? I'd be inclined to express the same incredulity about Lyon. He showed in Adelaide he's a decent bowler, and far, far superior to any other spin option we have.

Not sure what the general reaction was but I thought all of our bowlers (with the exception of the Warner, who was average) played superbly in Adelaide. Siddle will be remembered for his marathon effort but he bowled well throughout, as did Hilfy and Lyon, plus Clarke and even Quiney chipped in well - Clarke was genuinely threatening at stages.
