a funny story about the quite carriages.
a friend of mine was travelling home on the train after quite a few beers.
his phone rings
the following conversation ensures

him: blah blah *laugh loudly on his phone etc etc
other passenger: dirty looks
him: more noise and disruption
other passenger: excuse me mate this is a quite carriage
him: well you better shut the f**k up then
other passenger:silent

as rude as it is,i PMSL everytime i think about the exchange

I like it, I really don't like the idea of quiet carriages. What was good about Queensland trains though was the free wifi, NSW trains should have that too. Sometimes I'm on the train and I lose my internet connection altogether, free wifi on the trains would make the trains better. Might not work on crowded Sydney trains though. I only saw crowded Brisbane trains coming back from the football at Suncorp, other than that, they don't seem to crowd even though they only have one level.
