TAHU: "In rugby, you don't see as much of the ball but, skill-wise, I've become a better player. I've learned how to pass, kick and play both sides of the field. In certain situations I play first receiver, sometimes I'm on the wing or I might be at fullback."

didnt tahu say this when he just resigned with parra to say he believes he will be better at league because of his stint in union???

he's always tearing into someone  pissy little stan zemanek wannabe
i bet he wouldnt say boo to timana's face much safer hiding behind a microphone isnt it ray? and why the hell are you agreeing fulton YOU PICKED HIM
ive only ever been a part time listener to his show while im driving but maybe its time his audience went down by one

If they really cared what T said about his comments they wouldn't be tearing into him now they wouldve already done it...Hadley is a merkin I can't stand how he rips into punters who ring up just to give their 2 cents.....Ray it's a talkback radio station doesn't give u the right to rip into people and generally be a dick

Yes, because centres in union have to play both left and right sides of the field.

Sorry, but, regardless of whether he got enough game time or not, Tahu tried to cheapen the Wallaby jersey, and he deserves all the criticism he gets for that comment IMO.

Timana is a good player, but clearly a total puppet.

basically Cannon is jealous, yawion games don't get anywhere near the hype of Origin, the only games people watch are tests, gee there is more hype for this origin series than there was for RUWC when it was played here in australia.
Cannon is a nobody because he played the wrong code, Tahu is a house hold name.
Union mis mangaged Tahu's hamstrings and tries to change his running style, if it ain't broke don't fix it i say.
They stuffed up and now Tahu is back at the Top in League where he belongs and told it how it is.
Cannon would have been a reserve for reserve grade in league, too slow.

I don't see how giving his opinion about treasuring Origin more is cheapening anything. Are parra complaining that he is cheapening the Eels jersey by saying that playing Origin means more to him than the Eels? I really don't see what the big deal about his comments were. unless i missed some part of it

Sorry but there is a lot of honour associated with the Wallabies jumper, and Cannon has every right to criticize Tahu for his comments - regardless of whether you guys have heard of him or not.

Are you talking about the North Coast? Otherwise you must be talking out your @rse on this one....

... when I heard him rate the NSW Origin jumper ahead of the Wallaby jersey last week

what exactly did tahu say? .... if he simply gave his opinion that he feels an origin jersey means more than a wallabies one, then wtf is wrong with that? - why the need for cannon to go nuts over it? ..... did tahu have a real go?

All Wallaby games vs All Blacks and those games at Twickenham or Millenium Stadium certainly equal or even exceed the atmosphere of a SoO game. As to the importance of T's blue jumper then that's up to him but playing for your country in any code should be cheapened by silly comments by a player who clearly left RU with a bad taste in his mouth. TBH I thought T was better than that.

How did Tahu cheapen the Wallibes jersey???? It's the ARU that chase League players and offer them the big bucks. Did Tahu pick himself to play???? He was thrown in the deep end and struggled, and thats Tahu fault??? Yawnion is a boutique sport in this country and the only way for them to get a headline is to Buy a Leaguie or bag a leaguie. It's funny every year around Origin time they come up with the same old crap.........

If he'd come out and said the opposite while he was with the Waratahs, everyone would be going nuts.

Surely he didn't think there wouldn't be a back;lash from it?

do u have a link to the article? .... i wanna know what he said

i used to think Wallabies v All Blacks games were interesting - back in the eras from campo and co, though to Lomu and those awesome all-black teams - but union has progressed to be one of the dullest sports around - I can barely be f'ed watching top class union any more cos it is dull

i probably don't like origin as much as i once did either, although every now and then something spices it up and makes it interesting

and would Hindy write a newspaper article calling him names? - no, he'd shake his head, laugh at him and get on with life

Thanks, you've put it perfectly. I totally agree with this.

I've never respected Mat Rogers for coming back and bagging the ARU. I certainly didn't expect T to comment on it.

His comments about pride and passion would have been just as effective without bringing his Wallaby jumper into it. And TBH he played like sh*t with the Wallabies. I was hoping for him to succeed, but he couldn't cut it. He should have been given more game time at the Waratahs though.

Maybe not Hindy, but you can bet someone in league would take aim.....
maybe some numbnut journo from the telegraph or dipsh*t coach like ricky stuart would - but i doubt any league player would be bothered ripping their old teammate ..... its a very ridiculing bit of writing - i'm very interested to know if tahu went as low as this guy did

Exactly, but the old Leather patch brigade are made of different stuff. So Tahu rates an origin jumper higher than a Wobblies one. Well thats his opinion, everyone knows Origin is the Ultmate football you can play in this Country nothing compares with it. It's great to see a New South Welshman showing the same sort of Pride in the Jersey as a Queenslander. And plus he is the only Yawnion convert to come back and win a rep jumper something else he can be proud of.

For me personally, this NSW jersey means more than any I wore representing my country in rugby. Means more than playing with the Kangaroos. "I put this jersey on and get shivers right down my back. Honestly, I get goosebumps.
"To me this is the pinnacle."

Look he is hyped for the game etc but I think if he had his time again he would have been more delicate. Having said that there has been no knee jerk reaction from what he said about the Kangaroo jumper.

I would think that Brendan Cannon has come out of this looking the worse out of the two and nothing more than the Derryn Hinch of Rugby journalism however.

I think BC had retired from test football by the time Tahu played? And He finished his career at the Force, so they were never team mates.

What was wrong with that???? He even said the same about the Kangaroos jersey. Not sure why Cannon got his Panties in such a twist. He wouldn't have the foggiest what Origin means didn't he whore himself out to the highest bidder and played for just about everybody????
