Fight it with everything. Cannot believe it.

Morgan's concussion matters, obviously Norman's cheek doesn't.
Exactly, the NRL know our club is an easy touch no matter what the subject is. If it was one of the big four clubs, there would be no charge as they know there was no penalty or referral from the on-field referee and this is not consistent with the decision not to charge in the case of the hit on Norman.

I am completely confident they can beat this charge, not sure why it was considered grade 2 though. They only need to compile a load of tape where far worse tackles went unnoticed. Sim's was a beautiful tackle in fact and this is looming as the final nail in the coffin for my NRL support. It's not that we need Sims for a premiership charge, because we aren't getting anywhere near finals. It's just pure bias and injustice that I can't swallow.

Round 15 charges: Sims facing ban over tackle on Morgan

St George Illawarra forward Tariq Sims could be forced out of the State of Origin decider after being charged with dangerous contact.

The NSW Blues backrower is facing a two-match ban after the Match Review Committee charged him with dangerous contact to the head/neck of Cowboys playmaker Michael Morgan.

Morgan left the field for an HIA after the 45th-minute tackle in Friday night's game at WIN Stadium and did not return.

The Dragons trailed 10-6 at the time and came back to win 22-14.

Sims has the option of challenging the charge at a judiciary hearing but risks a three-match suspension if found guilty.

The Dragons host the Storm at WIN Stadium in round 17 on July 4, while the Origin decider is scheduled for July 10 at ANZ Stadium.

Melbourne prop Jesse Bromwich was also charged with dangerous contact to the head/neck in relation to an incident involving Roosters prop Siosiua Taukeiaho in the 15th minute of the Storm's 14-12 win on Friday night in Adelaide.

Bromwich will avoid suspension if he takes an early plea.

South Sydney prop George Burgess faces at least 10 matches on the sideline if found guilty of an alleged eye-gouge on Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah in Thursday night's clash at Bankwest Stadium.

Burgess has been referred to the judiciary without a grading on a dangerous contact charge (eye contact) and has 50 per cent loading from a previous eye-gouge ban over an incident involving New Zealand captain Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in England at the end of the last season.

With the base penalty for grade 3 dangerous contact being 500 demerit points, which equates to a five-match suspension, Burgess is facing a longer ban as the match review committee considers the incident to be of a higher grading than detailed in the NRL judiciary code.

As each grade is scaled up by 200 demerit points for dangerous contact charges, the base penalty for a grade 4 offence would be 700 demerit points and any penalty imposed on Burgess would include a 50 per cent loading for the incident in last year's Test which cost him a four-match ban.

The judiciary is free to determine a different grade to what the match review committee has recommended.

The England forward missed the third Test of the series against the Kiwis and the first three rounds of this year's Telstra Premiership.

It is understood Burgess apologised to Farah, a former Souths team-mate, immediately after the match on Thursday night, won 14-9 by the Tigers.

However, the match review committee considered it be more serious than the 2019 eye-gouge by Canberra forward Hudson Young on Canterbury prop Aiden Tolman, which resulted in a five-match suspension.

NRL.com has seen unreleased footage of the Young incident, which shows him digging his thumb into Tolman's eye, and the Raiders rookie pleaded guilty to a grade three dangerous contact charge and accepted a five-match ban after loading and carry-overs from previous offences were added.

Young would have been suspended for seven matches but he received a 25 per cent discount for an early plea – an option which will not be available to Burgess as his case has been referred directly to the tribunal.

Cowboys lock Josh McGuire has twice this season been fined for grade one contrary conduct after putting his hand in the face of opponents but there was insufficient video evidence to suggest either incident was an eye-gouge and warranted a more serious charge of dangerous contact.

The charge against Burgess follows signalling by the NRL this week of a tougher stance on incidents of foul play by referees and the match review committee.

The ARL Commission approved recommendations by the NRL Competition Committee for crusher tackles which are deemed reckless or intentional to be directly referred to the judiciary by the match review committee, without a grading.

In addition, players can be sin-binned or sent off for serious crusher tackles from round 15, which began on Thursday night.

The match review committee was also instructed to apply a higher grading for more serious late tackles – those deemed to be forceful and unnecessary – without being restricted by precedent.

Absolute rubbish decision, the biggest grubs in our game survive week either getting off or minor charges. Green winges & the league listens. And they wonder why more & more people are getting disillusioned with the game based on rubbish administration at the NRL.

Sims had his arms as a wrap around tackle. A great tackle where Morgan falls to the ground and hits his head on the turf which is where most damaged occured. Green first accused the tackle then towards end of interview indicates he did not have a proper look at the tackle. Simply Green was a sore loser
and immature in his reaction. I reckon he just lost my vote of ever coaching the dragons. No soft nuts in my team.

What a joke. Just because green had a sook in the presser. He could not pull out of it. He was committed and it wasn’t late. His arms were wrapped and his shoulder wasn’t cocked. Just because he was concussed Tariq is charged. The media played their part in this also. Mark my words.

Seriously they have to be joking.....there was nothing wrong with that tackle...if Morgan had got straight up from the hit nothing would have come of it....would It then be deemed as a legal tackle ....but because he went off its considered illegal.....cant believe it....its about time our club stood up and gave it to the judiciary committee...its bullshit end of story

Yes Alexander for one....said he didnt think it was that bad but it was a fraction late...doesnt surprise me with him hes alway got some negative comments re The Dragons....bet he wouldnt have added the bit late bit in if Klemmer wasnt ready for Origin 3.....chances are Tariq wouldnt have been picked anyway

WTF.
There will be twenty tackles this round that are worse and nothing happens with those tackles.

Typical NRL - no consistency, always reacting to public emotions - this time cowboys have had a number of bad calls in past weeks. The NRL needs to makes these decisions based on all similar charges made this year.

Tariq Sims has been charged with a grade 2 Reckless contact tackle.

If you play the above footage at 0.25 speed from 2:40 onward it looks like the correct charge.

Nicolaous Ghabar defended Billy Slater quite well allowing him to play in the Grand Final last year - good luck hoping CEO Johnston has the brains to engage Ghabar.

The rest on the sideline will do Tariq well - freshen him up for when Mary has the boys make their run for the lofty ('successful' lol) heights of 7th or 8th...

Remember the hit on Norman by the Parra winger - no Charge. Consistency is crap.
