lol hes minding his own business. Then gets confronted by several players. Then is attacked from behind

If I'm filming someone without their permission, and then refuse to delete the footage when confronted by that person, I'd expect things to get physical. People need to learn to be accountable for their actions.

Definitely wasn't Taylan's place to get involved though. But if he left it to Cleary, the dude would have gotten away with it, because Cleary understands what it means to have a profile such as his.

Basically, the dude got his message, just from the wrong postman.

Storm in a teacup. No real damage done.

Public figure in a public space confronts someone who has done nothing illegal.
Why was Cleary so determined for the video to be deleted?

Lol. You must be from the riff.

Cleary is entitled to ask. The bloke is entitled to refuse.

Hope the bloke sues

Lucky to get off no conviction with that assault from behind. How many weeks will be get at least two so he sits out the qualifying final.

The main thing to come out of the video is that young men today have zero dress sense! Why are 24 year old men still dressed like 13 year old Americans?

Same reason I've been asked to leave a venue for intoxication despite being a designated driver with a wrist band - because sometimes its the easier decision. My friend was intoxicated, so easier to ask me to leave as well rather than have someone lingering outside whilst my night continued.

It was easier to ask the no name person who wasn't in a group. I imagine the venue would also like overpaid young footballers to continue spending money in their venue.

Or the guy was a merkin. Either way, I wouldn't base a venues decision as the basis for your argument.

It is been to court, The venue backed up Taylan's side that the guy was being a dick.

No conviction recorded so it really is a non event

Tyrone was with Cleary in the video, I can see why Taylan got involved in that case.

I'd expect if I was being a dick, To cop worse actually

Nice comment. I mean, it doesn't make any reference to the points I raised, but good for you.

why he attacked the guy from behind? Maybe if the guy was giving a good beating to the two panthers players in front of him but he was somewhat out sized and didn't look like he was about to throw a punch looking at the video. Was an aggressive dog act on a kid who hadnt really done anything wrong, in fact he is laughing with Cleary at first then the other player gets in his face. Anyway boys will be boys, no matter how much they get paid. NRL should sit hm out for a week or two and hopefully he'll learn to control himself in public.

Why's that? Because a 6ft, 95kg bloke with a couple of mates needs some assistance from the blindside against a 5ft7 unathletic pudgy bloke?

I'm starting to agree with Ricky on his views of Panthers players

Rickys got players who have done much worse than that to people.

Dont get me wrong here it was stupid for May to do that and he will deserve what he gets but fmd the need for some of you to be outraged over something that barely qualifies as an assault is pretty sad, he pulled the guy to the ground that would happen a million times a week in pubs, footy fields and school play grounds,. "Hope he sues" jesus we are lucky every muppet who gets pulled or pushed over doesnt waste time pressing charges and then suing, like how much do you think the physical and mental damage from being pulled to the ground is worth? He already got a thousand out of him and most would consider that lucky.

I'm not outraged. But the defence of this act is ridiculous.

As for the "barely qualifies as assault", the guy was lucky his head didn't smash on the hard ground. This is the thing - we can't justify something "barely being assault" when people have literally been killed from a single punch, etc. The whataboutism of "it happens a million times a week in pubs" doesn't justify it.

I mean, imagine justifying drink driving because it happens million times a week.

Easily an assault. It was pretty a vicious throw and May was lucky he didn't hit his head.

As to mental damage, that would be difficult to determine. Apparently he was a souffs supporter.

Interesting with finals will the NRL go soft.

I would say if this case was resolved in June or July he probably gets a 2 match ban.

I think Penrith will push the NRL for 1 match ban to have him right for week 2 of the finals.
Of course they will, plus it's Penrith so expect extra softness.

I'm not saying he should be suspended but they've set precedents so many times it's going to look pretty average if they let this one through to the keeper.

Its not a defence, its a fact. It was so minor there wasnt even a conviction recorded, just a fine and on your way.
I'll make note about that next time someone complains about NAS and JWH receiving fines again lol

We are talking a guy who is 20 at the time. So of course will do dumb things

So if Kikau who was standing in front of him, Hit him that is better?

We don't know how long he was being a pest for, Nor know what him filmed so it is hard to comment on the force used.

The NRL was told of it, Found no suspension was needed

It went to court, The pub backed up the chain of events and no conviction recorded. No sure the NRL will do anything to it now
