I sort of feel it as well.

I sort of wasn't thinking it 3 to 4 weeks ago.

Only after the Broncos game I dared to dream and when storm lost to Roosters to give a shot of the top 4 I started believing we can do it.

We are in form & injury free.

Melbourne who have been the stumbling block over numerous of our finals campaigns we have been involved in are not just sliding but have there measure and will have to play us in Sydney if we meet in the finals.

Even a loss this week isn't terminal as it probably pits us on the softer side of the draw compared to Roosters/Souths.

Our best is finally good enough it's just about delivering it for another 3 games straight.

Im gaining in confidence (silly me) but I still reckon our bench and interchange may be our nemesis. It was very obvious how gassed Ice was in the final 10 to 15 minutes yet the plan was for him to do 80 and 80 was what he was going to do. This has actually happened a few times.
Will pushing Reg and Jnr for huge minutes consistently, impact their effectiveness? Have we done enough to develop subs to alleviate the need to push this pair to their max and possibly beyond.
Im also concerned about our defensive structure when Jake comes on. Jake comes on in minute 74, Storm score in minutes 76 and 78.
Additionally Waqa worries the sh*t out of me. His consistent brain fa*ts very concerning.
Hopefully my concerns are just me being a silly old merkin.
All that said Im so excited fu*ken. Lets fu*k those smug bast*rds up!

I have no doubt we have the talent across the squad to take it out. The area I believe let's us down is between the ears. Mentally is where I think we'll struggle. It's one thing to win games in the home and away season after falling behind, but the Finals are a different proposition. The 2 finals wins we've had under the current set up in 2019 and 2021, we were on the front foot/skiiing downhill from the kickoff. I reckon if we went behind this Friday by 6-12 points early but ended up winning the game, it would have massive psychological benefits and maybe the catalyst to finally exorcise those mental demons....

Looks like it’s going to be pissing down come Friday so it’s likely to be a dour slogfest of a game. Probably plays a little into both teams strength being their go forward, but probably negates some of our weakness which is typically fast shifts out wide. I think it will be a momentum of individual brilliance from either teams halves that decide the game.

hopefully Cleary for his first game in 5 weeks and Luai with only 1 game in 5 are a little rusty

For a team that seems to have been Bipolar all season, I hope this high continues. Thinking back to some games we should definitely not have lost (Tigers, Bulldogs), we really should have been sitting in second place this year.
The past doesn't matter, we are where we are and as long as we play our best for the next month, hopefully this long awaited drought will finally be over!
