Makka is a prop. Will Brown replicate the job of a prop on rotation? Computer says no. If we dont use Jake, then August Carty offers more versatility. Brown misses out.
Why couldn't Nrown play the role of "prop"? Particularly in the amount of minutes Maka is playing. 8, 10 and 13 are all middle forwards. Jake Turbo plays "lock"/"prop", and many others do.... Nrown may well be busted but you won't convince me that Maka does anything better than Nrown especially in big games coming up.

Feels like you're doing your best to justify the coach's ongoing non-selection of a better option for some reason to be honest....

Well when has he ever in his career been picked to be one of the props to start or off the bench ? I can answer the first bit.

Five times in 2016 for Souths.

No, you just don’t like Makka. I get that he is just OK, but that’s sadly Ogden, Emu and to a lesser extent Hollis’s fault for not taking that spot that was up for grabs ALL YEAR.

Now is not the time to be experimenting by playing Nathan Brown as a prop. If you take that as me justifying the coach’s whatever, then that’s up to you.

I reckon Storm will blow us to pieces. I hope I am wrong but they look so well organised.
But it may also be that I don't have enough faith in our sides consistency. The Storm you know will play great and if lost would be a real close dog fight. Whilst we can win or compete if we did get blown out by 30+ I doubt to many people would be shocked. If it was the other way around it would create headlines.
They may beat us in the effort areas or up the middle with quick play the balls, but their attacking shape isn’t great or as good as it was……and they take lots of poor options…and their kicking isn’t great…

The key is complete high and limit their time in our half….

We just gotta bash the merkins. Stay patient, and bash them some more.

They aren't the unflappable side they were, you can get under their skin. And with home ground advantage if we fight for the PTB we should pick up a few penalties in the ruck.

Hehehe ... Nrown has been a middle forward his entire career. Its literally insane to suggest he cant be it now.

"You just don't like Makka" - lol, what year are you in schoolboy??

On the contrary, I was really happy when Makahesi got his chance last year and even happier when he earned a contract extension. But the longer the year has gone, his progress/regress is fairly evident. I can remember 1 maybe 2 games where he has stood up and made a difference (if that). But those have been outliers IMO.

And by the way, how are you validating the position that bench forwards are coming on to replace in those rugby league project stats? If you went back and looked at someone like Greg Eastwood's stats, is it going to be clear that when he started on the bench he was there as a reserve prop exclusively or lock given he played both roles interchangeably throughout his career? Like so many others do....

"According to The Daily Telegraph, the NRL is preparing to issue Munster a “concerning act” letter for his elbow on Walker."

WTF use is a letter?
Cameron Munster has been issued with a concerning act notice for an elbow on Sammy Walker, so that’s a bit of a worry for Cam Munster,” Read said.

“It just means they’re keeping an eye on Cam, he’ll be right.”

Brown's arm was in a sling at the "old boys" walk. Something about a broken finger, probably more serious? I'd say that's got something to do with his non-selection

So locks are props now ? Interchangeable? Cam Murray, Victor Radley say f**k you. Could they are Nathan Brown play prop if they were asked ? Of course, but it would be insane to pick them there if you actually had a fit prop able to play. Makka is definitely an NRL prop, he’s just not in the same class as our starters. Also, he’s not too far off Oregon, so why is the heat never on him ?

Yeah, even at 13 he plays as a prop, but with the odd link play as part of his role ( kinda like Jnr but often wider ) He's not really a ball playing lock, but he does have a good pass in his game.

He could play that same role and it'd just mean when he isn't coming off the back fence he's offering another point of attack.

And I'm fine with that if that's the case. Injury aside, anyone asserting Maka offers more than Nrown as a middle forward (prop v lock is an antiquated concept) is having a laugh IMO.

Nrown aint Radley or Murray. Their games are quite different, Nrown pays more like a prop than either at lock.
