"You just don't like Makka" - lol, what year are you in schoolboy??
Well it must be true because you want to play a lock at prop. You want to do that because you don’t like him as a player ? How am I wrong ?

On the contrary, I was really happy when Makahesi got his chance last year and even happier when he earned a contract extension. But the longer the year has gone, his progress/regress is fairly evident. I can remember 1 maybe 2 games where he has stood up and made a difference (if that). But those have been outliers IMO.
Hence why we tried to sign a prop before 1 August.
And by the way, how are you validating the position that bench forwards are coming on to replace in those rugby league project stats? If you went back and looked at someone like Greg Eastwood's stats, is it going to be clear that when he started on the bench he was there as a reserve prop exclusively or lock given he played both roles interchangeably throughout his career? Like so many others do....
You’re jumping at shadows. I said “I can answer the first bit..” meaning here are the times that he has been selected to start as prop. 😵💫

I think Nathan Brown (if fit) should be in our first choice 19 for finals, brings experience and some mad merkin vibes if he's fit and motivated.

If he's wearing a bench number I don't particularly care who he subs on for - prop or lock. He'll just be doing what he usually does and can bring to the team.

Forget the terms Lock and Prop. You're showing how out of touch you are using that terminology Buzz. The days of Wayne Pearce and Ray Price are long gone...

And what's your point exactly citing the fact we tried to bring in a "prop" before 1August - that a bloke like Maka obviously ain't cutting it? I agree!!!

Your last point provides no insights or answers to my question so let's just call it quits there shall we...

Yes the 3rd middle has often become a bit of a ball player recently. But everyone in the middle is expected to be able to hit the ball up and tackle.

Nrown has run and hit like a mad merkin all his career.

Not just recently, in '94 Fittler won the Dally M for lock of the year , he was bookended by Dymock in 93 and 95, pretty different players.

It's probably the most varied role depending on the skillset you have and the game you wanna play. For us it's more a running role than a ball playing role, which just means our locks a little closer to being a third prop rather than the infamous middle half.

Well you know what they say...
You gotta lose money to lose money....
I actually hope I do lose money. The only way I won't finish the year ahead is if we win the comp. In that case it'll be money well spent. The rugby league gods are fickle but I'm sure the merkins can be bought.

Talk about taking one for the team! Pou is doing everything he can to financially punish himself for us to bask in premiership glory!! Kudos merkin!

The pieces have fallen into place for us to have one last chance at gaining a top 4 spot. It's up to us - simples. For all the bi-polar performances we've delivered this year (and in the past) this is a massive chance to right so many wrongs of deeds gone by.
Are we up to the challenge? Well, we are playing at home in front of a packed stadium of wound up Eels supporters. The Storm aren't firing any harder than we are and played in a hell of a contact game last night - of which they came up empty. We're relatively free of injuries and they will be bruised after the Roosters game. Our biggest issues are self belief, dodgy form and making dumb plays under pressure. However, I think we are in with our best chance to stamp fear into all the other teams come finals time and I think we'll do it in a tough one.
I hope we f**ken lose so we can get rid of Brad Arthur's ffs

Disgraceful from the NRL.
Just trying to be seen as they are doing something. Well, doing something would be charging him.
It was either a deliberate elbow or not. And clearly it was the former.
Munster has form for this sort of shit. Why a "warning"?
They love sending warning letters to Melbourne.

Hello NRL it doesn't work

What's the difference between prop and lock? Number on the back? Time on the field? How often they get interchanged? Hit-ups per attacking set?

Not really an experiment based on the 100 or so games Browny has played for us, all in the middle
Clearly there's different types of middle forwards, with different strengths and different roles in the attacking structure. I'm sure everyone agrees on that. The problem with using the terms 'prop' and 'lock' is that it implies two unexamined assumptions:

1. There are only two types of middle forward playing one or the other of the two roles. In reality there are at least four types of middle forward used in the modern game.

2. There are two 'props' and one 'lock' on the field at any given time. In reality plenty of teams only use one genuine 'prop' for at least part of each game. I've also seen some teams start games with three 'props' in the middle and no 'lock'.

There are only two types of middle forwards, fat merkins, and fit merkins

I already got on us to win the comp at $13. I had a hundred on it. Which means if we make the grand final I'll be having a couple grand on the opposition.
It must be an emotional hell being you and keeping up with loving and hating opposition teams depending on the day/week/month lol

Not really. I usually only bet against Parra and when I do I hope I lose my bet. The trick is not betting so much that I miss the money when we win (and I f**ken loose).
