BA on 100% footy said ‘it doesn’t look great’ for Opacic but they are going to let him train tomorrow and see how he pulls up. I got the vibe he’s next to no chance.

Also mentioned Nrown isn’t in the team as BA believes he’s a similar player to Matterson and can only have one player of that ilk in the team otherwise they potentially unbalance the 17 in terms of coverage if there is injury. He did allude that he is waiting for an opportunity, and that it would come… I’m hoping it’s this weekend.

Seems like a strange reason considering they were both in the team last season.

JT was doing a good job of trying to shift the pressure onto us rather than his cows.

saying this is our only opportunity if we want to break the premiership doubt as our window will close after this season so it’s now or never.

I don’t think he’s an idiot, so I therefore don’t think he believes what he’s saying but is trying to take the pressure off the cows who are strong favs and will benefit from 95% of the crowd support and the weather conditions.

He was suggesting with the 17 he has been naming that he has every position covered if there is an injury within a game. If he played Nrown and Matterson he would have to sacrifice one of the other players (who covers a different position) thus potentially leaving us short if there’s an injury.

I’m still a believer in just picking your best 17 blokes, especially this time of year.

Power game with offloads. Against Penrith we didn't offload enough or move ball. And our backs where pathetic and helping our forwards.
The more I think about it we need to limit forward movement and use back as much as can. Waqa,Penisini,Sivo need to charge from dummy half.
Opacic is probably the worse at this. Having Marata there is like another forward. Could be a blessing in disguise.

I'll give ourselves a good chance. The Cowboys had a fairly easy draw towards the end of the year but were beaten comfortably when they came up against the Rooster and Souths. They leaked alot of points against the Sharks and I doubt we will play that same defensive game. They too also struggled against the Tigers but unlike us they won by a point instead. Seems they can score points but also leak alot as well.
