Sharks local junior and part-time opera singer
Daniel Vasquez will make his NRL debut against Canberra tomorrow.
And he may not be the only change to the Sharks line-up with
Billy Magoulias,
Bryson Goodwin and
Braydon Trindall all firming to be late inclusions with Cronulla coach John Morris leaning towards resting a host of his big guns ahead of the finals.
Vasquez, 23, has been rewarded for his patience in developing through the Sharks lower grades after beginning his football journey with the St Joseph’s in the Sutherland Shire.
The 110kg prop forward has spent the past two seasons with the Newtown Jets and is a former NSW Origin under-18’s representative whose hidden talent is opera singing.
He is likely to replace
Andrew Fifita on the Sharks bench, with the former Test prop expected to be rested ahead of next week’s elimination final.
Jesse Ramien,
Toby Rudolf and
Siosifa Talakai are also a chance of sitting out the clash against Ricky Stuart’s team of rookie Raiders, with a final decision on the trio to be made on Saturday morning.
