Maybe we are misunderstanding the term "dummy half". This "role" can ultimately be fulfilled by anyone on the field as the person who stands behind the play the ball.

The hooker ultimately has a very defined role on the field - one of which is the primary dummy half.

Are you saying that either Witt or Williams - both of whom have never played in the position of Hooker, come on to replace Mitch Rein as Hooker for a period during the game? Not saying it isn't possible - Craig Wing was one player who I think moved from Half Back to Hooker successfully - but somehow we are under the assumption that Witt has played a portion of his career at Hooker. I can't find evidence of this anywhere.

Craig Wing is a very good example. Your spot on.

Would be good to see both players given a chance. Williams is a half back and Witt is doing well.

Maybe Williams to start at half and have Witt on the bench as backup for both half and or hooker. I maybe big time wrong about this but I'm all for giving Williams a proper chance at halfback rather than 1 game every 5 rounds. But not at the expense of Witt. (On current form). My 2 cents.

Yep,agree with this.Williams needs continued game time to either work or fail.Witt on the bench as insurance,

Seriously guys all we have got in this forum is about the negative affects of changing halfs and not having stability then we get Witt back who is Prices 1st choice and you want to change back to Williams? Under Witt we have looked more structured and flogged the Tigers and really beat Melb with 15 men. Some back to back poor performances from Witt will have to eventuate before you will see a change. So far he's put in 2 solid games. Williams was dropped as he wasn't showing the maturity needed to win games and the team as a whole was sliding downhill in performances, not blaming Williams but its easier to make changes when the team is performing badly. I hope we retain him as I see him as a player of the future and most likely our 7 next year. He no doubt will get another chance this year I'm sure

Green is confirmed to replace Farrell. Unbelievable. Now, before little bottle princess gets his g-string in a knot, I don't have a link. Just spoke to someone at the club.

Still not sure the long term logic here with Witt.....having said that we do need some wins under our belt even for moral.....so if Williams isn't our long term goal (and I fail to see him growing outside of 1st grade) then why buy him...sounds like Drinkwater all over again......

I dont think there is any long term logic, Price is looking at things in the very short term trying to get a win on the board weekly so i believe thats all his outlook is in total ,because he knows if he doesnt start winning soon he will be clearing out his desk ,so I dont think he cares who he burns along the way, I think with Price its all about self preservation.

I can't believe it. Seriously. If we happen to lose this match I will be pointing the finger directly at this selection.

He hasnt been performing well at all in reggies where as mata utia has been very solid, dont know what price is thinking. Hope its not true

Mata U has been playing fullback, and killing it. But one can only imagine that price doesn't think he's up to it defence wise.

What a joke.

I agree with your prognosis on Witt ,but i wonder where Williams figures in the future at the club, when they bought him they must have known that he would need some time to find his feet, cant see the logic in saving him for next year by that time his self belief will be shot tgo bits , he should be getting bought along now , i cant seriously see us as a finals contentder this year as dont the bookmakers ,so if they were serious with Willliams he would be in the team ,as i outlined in the above post Price is about nothing more than saving his own paycheque , as far as bringing players "along" he has nothing.

I must be missing something, but Green is not up to first grade standard. Surely Mata/ Runciman/Thompson would be better choices. Price with another "Quinlan" type selection...What a goose.

Same bloke you spoke to last week confirming Quinlan on the bench?
Same bloke that confirmed Price promised Kyle to be starting half?

Cool, we can all rest easy then.

You need a new sauce, try sweet chilli.

@LaraPittFox: Kyle Stanley to play halfback for Cutters, Quinlan FB, Mata'utia to centres. Nathan Green heads to 1st grade for Farrell. De Belin starts.

Dear god...
