hmmm I think what we have with Lolohea is a similar predicament to the one we had with Johnson. We know he's extraordinarily talented. How do we develop him to maximise his potential. I don't think I want to see him in First Grade in 2014

Tui is one of the most talented juniors we have produced. I cant see a lot of difference playing him in reserves rather than FG, its with the big boys.

I don't want Lolohea there full time yet, but if not TL or Havili then I'd rather him there on the bench getting his feet a little wet than Locke.

But really there's a long list of players who would be better served on that bench spot than Locke. If he's not starting then there's no point him being in the 17.

He was a late scratching from the NSW Cup side on Saturday - so was Peyroux.

The centre that played instead (can't think of his name right now) did bloody well IMO.

The centers were Solomone Kata and Carlos Tuimavave.
Kata played well.

Kata could be a bit special if he's managed right.

For starters he needs lots of time playing rugby league in one position.

Being a Union back that position should be in the three quarter line, these rugby kids pass the ball better than a kid raised in the League systems.

He's faster than Konrad and Laumape, not as fast as Fusitua....he passes the ball better than all three put together.

The Warriors flirted with him at hooker ( unfortunate turn of phrase there ) because of his outstanding passing.

I get where they are coming from but based what's best for Kata , they should stick with one position with players who are learning a new code.

Ball playing center with his speed , previous experience of going wide to the wing, is what we should concentrate on with Kata imo.

He could end up being more useful at center than Hurrell , based on ball beats man over raw power ( Kata has power of his own, not at Konrads Maninga level , but the balance evens things out ) . Kata and Hurrell could offer us the best center pairing we've had since Toopi and Carlaw.

And where do we see Laumape long-term, as a winger? If Kata is to be bred to play there, 3 into 2 doesn't go and to me Laumape's attitude and from what I've heard, work ethic deserves to be on the team sheet each week.

Dropped for not meeting KPI's.

Kata is a work in progress - long way to go IMO. I also watched the reggies on the weekend, he can certainly break a tackle, he needs to improve his decision making though. Some of his offloads and passes seemed more an expression of "hey look coach, I can do all these fancy things" without any other real thought going into it.

He's got talent, but I'd hate to crucify him by seeing him go up a grade too early.

FWIW, I thought Carlos was close to the NSWarriors best on the weekend. Defence was good, got involved a bit, and generally was quite dangerous with ball in hand.

Yeah the Key performance indicators McFadden talks about are not new ( Elliot was into them , all coaches are , some use other terms when they talk to media...same difference ).

The difference between Elliot and McFadden seems, Elliot wasn't prepared to act on the shirkers , well that's a bit unfair , he tried to get them onside instead of dropping them from what I can see.

McFaddens living and dying by his performance indicators. Looking good so far.

Would love to see us having the choice of Hurrell, Laumape & Kata long term at centre. Probably being a bit greedy if Kata works out as well, but it's always good to have top class backup so 3 brilliant centres would be ideal. Just like having Fusitua, Fish +1 as wing options.

Carlos sure is.

He looks terrified out there sometimes , looks like deep seated fear to me, more than just a defensive technique problem.

Doesn't seem too keen on committing to contact.

Immense talent with the ball in hand.

i wonder if he has had the special tackling input Shaun, Konrad, Glen and Pita had with Wiki.

That would seem the place to start , Wiki had great results with those others.
