Get used to it. On current form you will see this team every week "being given a chance to redeam themselves after another shocking performance".

The thing I dont get is Bluey came out at the start of the season saying no one has a settled spot in the team, depth is large etc etc, so why are we playing well under performing centres week in week out when I think we have clearly better players not getting game time???

I dont think Benry has played too bad.. Certainly not a natural centre, doesnt offer anything on attack and is hardly the best defender, but his spot is secure over an experienced "star" player??

Dont get me started on Jro..

I don't even rate Dave Taylor at all, but Souths would be stupid to not run him straight at the Johnson/Ropati channel, do that a couple of times and then you just have to use him as a decoy to draw both in with Inglis looping round the back. Try time galore.
Best case result we get a Jerome Vs Joel Clinton result taking both players out

It's scary to imagine what level of calamity it will take for a rethink
The management don't seem to think anything is wrong!

Decoy?

God damn ref could be running that channel and Ropo and Manu would still jam in to take him. I've never seen a defensive line fall to pieces the extent ours have just by throwing a simple dummy runner at them. Just run to the line with numbers and watch the carnage unfold.

One of my favourite Bluey-isms was in the pre-season when he said every position was truly up for grabs... I can't find the exact article, but here was something similar

Elijah Taylor shapes as a natural replacement for Luck, and the club has plenty of additional cover in the back row, even with Steve Rapira already detailed to bolster the propping ranks.
"There is competition for positions there and that is what we are after," McClennan said.

If there is truly competition for positions, and some are performing woefully, why do you not make changes???? Can I sense some irony in all this?

Of course there is competition for places.... Places to line up behind the current line up, because Bluey won't be picking anyone different for the rest of the season.

I already knew Bluey f'd up when the Mrs came home that 'look' on her face. You poor buggers the whole lotta ya.

On a positive note, the talked about centre Ngani Laumape is starting for U20s alot of Warrior fans predict to see him locking down a centre spot in the topside in the near future. That's if Benry isn't still 'killing' it.

I'm out of Auckland this weekend so wont be at Mt Smart but ...

I almost hope that Souths win.

The Warriors team is like Mt Eden Prison i.e. very hard to get out of

Iafeta, there was competition, run and won by the current 17.

From this path, thou shalt not deviate.

"I intend selecting on form not reputation".

Yeah right!

That quote sounds familiar....

Iafeta, there was competition, run and won by the current 17.

From this path, thou shalt not deviate.

On competition... funny thing is we had a centre who in a way announced himself to the comp with his try against Parramatta, and has barely been seen in first grade starting sides since... Its almost like if you perform, you shall perish.

How many losses will it take before we get some changes? It feels like after every shit performance this year I've thought to myself "Ok we lost, but the team changes might make us better in the long run" - only to get to Tuesday to be utterly disappointed. I hope by some miracle they can turn it around... But then again, one more loss might do it... Maybe.

Also, I don't mind Henry now - nothing special but he's pretty solid. Made that shit pass at a crucial time on the weekend but he will learn from that (you would hope). However, it's a travesty how he is playing center over a proven NRL superstar and the touted rookie of the year. Still, I'd rather Ropo dropped than him. It's funny, I think my center rankings would be the complete opposite of Bluey's:

Inu > Hurrell > Henry > Ropati

I only watched the second half this week (It was very hard work to sit through that - can't imagine what it was like the whole game).
Surely after that terrible performance (where the players looked like they didnt give a f**k) changes had to be made - but no.
I'm almost getting to the stage where I want us to lose, so that Bluey is continually wrong with his selections. Not quite there yet - but close.

VODAFONE WARRIORS
1 KEVIN LOCKE
2 BILL TUPOU
3 BEN HENRY
4 JEROME ROPATI
5 MANU VATUVEI
6 JAMES MALONEY
7 SHAUN JOHNSON
8 SIONE LOUSI
9 NATHAN FRIEND
10 BEN MATULINO
11 FELETI MATEO
12 SIMON MANNERING (c)
13 ELIJAH TAYLOR
Interchange:
14 RUSSELL PACKER
15 UKUMA TA’AI
16 KONRAD HURRELL
17 SAM RAPIRA
18 LEWIS BROWN
20 JOHN PALAVI
COACH: BRIAN McCLENNAN

http://www.thewarriors.com.au/defau...-players-brought-into-19-man-squad-for-souths

Well after some serious soul searching (lolz) I am hoping for the following 17 come game day:

1 Locke
2 Tupou
3 Henry
4 Hurrell
5 Vatuvei
6 Maloney
7 Johnson
8 Matulino
9 Friend
10 Lousi
11 Brown
12 Taylor
13 Mannering

14 Rapira
15 Palavi
16 Mateo
17 Ta'ai

Vatuvei won't be dropped or moved, but his combination with Ropati needs to change. I am not convinced Hurrell would be much better defensively, but I'd like to see him given a chance.

I think Mannering is far stronger around the ruck than Taylor - who suits playing out wide.

Palavi should be given a shot for the under-performing Package.

Taylor or Brown can help out at centre if Konrad can't handle the full 80 minutes.

*we're going to need some serious luck on our side*
