I hate that I support this club sometimes. Imagine how good life would be if we were Storm fans?

Ahh the choices we make, but regardless I'll still tune in next week, renew my membership next year and hope we win a premiership in my lifetime

Bunty is all good.

Yeah, he is...but what's his role right now?

I'd take him playing at prop over Gubb in a second, but I'm not sure the role he's currently playing is worth including him on the bench.

If someone is playing 20 minutes, let's have someone with a bit of spark and someone that can cover hooker

Someone on the After Match just said Matulino could be a month away.

Someone like Tevaga needs to come in either off the bench or starting at lock for me. We have nothing dynamic in our back row and he showed a bit of this last season. Going well in Reserves by all accounts as well. If that means Hoffman/ Thompson are gone for the next well then so be it. We need more options in attack and more aggression on D. He offers this.

Sao and Gavet should both make the 17 for next week as well. Ayshford at centre and Fus to the wing works as well.

There should be a few incumbents shitting themselves this week. Hopefully SK had the nads to make the calls the team needs!!!

We can only go up from here, pretty much rock bottom. We've struggled to get past 12 points (excluding the Knights which doesn't count).

Im just glad we kept our best players out of the nines so we could get the start of our season off to a flyer.

WORST NRL FORWARD PACK FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS OF THE COMPETITION

Does not matter if you have the best NRL superstars in our backline. The forward pack is flat out Lillymud.

Id rush Mason Lino into the starting line up, get some one who actually knows how to create plays rather than simply relying on broken play.

a few positives we can take from that at least, mostly around the way some of the guys who got opportunities today put their hands up. Gavet, Sao and Ayshford all deserve to stay, Fusitua can stay on the wing. I'd drop Kata but don't really have anyone else to put in his place. Maumalo holds his spot though I'd rather have Manu if he was fit. Hingano or maybe Lino cone in at 5/8 assuming Foran is out for a few weeks with his hammy. Lolohea can go and play reserves.
Would consider dropping Thompson, running with Mannering, Hoffman, Sao, Afoa, Lilyman, Gavet, Lisone and Vete as forwards. Gubb can go to reserves. Last bench spot to a utility, or maybe one of the Sipleys.

Looks good to me. Afoa unlucky, but there will be plenty of opportunities for him. Getting the season on track takes priority.

I'd drop Thompson before Bunty.

Gubb (and maybe Lisone) gone for either Vete or Pat Sipley (or both).

Tevaga in the 4th bench spot (tempted for Roache, but he's only 1 game back - he might be taking Luke's spot soon though with a decent run in NSW cup...).

Hingano to 6, assuming Foran is out. Drop Tui, showed again he ain't a half's hole, so to speak.

Keep Ayshford/Fus right edge. Ayshford had a crap game tonight yet still made a few little decisions that showed the difference between a real centre and some dude playing one in from the touch line - and Aysh at least has an excuse, he played yesterday and was parachuted in at the last minute.

Sooo something like...

RTS
Fus
Ayshford
Kata
Maumalo (did just... JUST enough to survive)
Hingano
Johnson
Vete
Luke
Lillyman
Afoa
Hoffman
Mannering

Tevaga
Sao
Gavet
Sipley

Because Manu can score low percentage tries and compete for the high ball, maumalo can't. He has no wingers skills. Today was the first time I've seen him score anything that looks like a wingers try. He has 3 tries in how many games to his name? Pretty sure Jonno Wright had a better strike rate.

Where do we go to from here indeed.

When I see a team who make basic error after basic error, periodically clock off in defense, little communication and trust as a defensive pack, won't back up players going to the line, won't show commitment to the cause and all the other faults, who cares what the side is? I see Issac Luke talk his usual shit in the media mid week then starts us off with a completely feeble effort to let in a try. I see Tui make a limp-wristed effort at picking up Kata's error, which also directly leads to a try. I see everyone stand around looking at one of the most potent broken field runners in the comp, not knowing or trusting what anyone else will do and just praying the other guy will make an effort.

I tell you all what f**king shits me, and that is the sight of McFadden on the field. That, to me, is symptomatic of why we will not succeed this year and why Doyle will be moving on. The guy who was a complete failure as a coach, and clearly didn't have the support of the side, is still there and in the ears of the players on field? WTF? Am I the only one who sees how f**king stupid this is and continues the trend of things of 'things the Warriors do that no one else in the NRL would' ie outside backs on the bench, wingers as props etc.

Thompson adds nothing give Afoa that spot. Hope Ayshford stays but he's often a convenient scape goat

Kearney developing a special record as a head coach
