Will definitely be Beale and Leutele with another forward on the bench.

As much as I'd love to see Gagan given a go again, Leutele showed enough to warrant selection as a winger.

Get 4 forwards on the bench...or 3 + Nu Brown.

the cows pack is very good.
they have rep props and great backrowers with plenty of size.
I think 4 forwards on the bench stacks up better

Flanno will play Beale on the wing. He has every time they've been on the same side (bar the last minute of the game the other night).

Brown can't play 2nd row, would love to see another big forward but apparently JSL is a plodder and f**king DFif is on leave FFS!

Just f**king win! Comfortably I prefer, JT has a habit of pulling wins out of his arse if the came is close late

I must admit I have a pretty bad record watching the Sharks, of course that's not helped by the fact the only games I get to are against Melbourne in Melbourne but also saw us get done by the Rabbitohs at ANZ the only time I have been to Sydney so I just want a win!

MEET the man Cronulla hope will inherit Paul Gallen?s coveted no.13 jersey once he retires at the end of 2016.

Fa?amanu Brown, better known as Nu by his teammates, is the front runner to take the skippers spot at lock.

With Gallen having a year to run on his deal, Sharks coach Shane Flanagan admits he?s unsure of who will fill Gallen?s boots in 2017.

This is where Brown enters into the fold.

The Christchurch product made his NRL debut in 2014, playing 11 games before missing the entire 2015 season thanks to an ACL injury he suffered during the Auckland Nines Tournament.

Having signed James Maloney and Chad Townsend on long-term deals, Flanagan believes Brown can be better used by abandoning his usual position of five-eighth.

Having bulked up during his time out of the game, Flanagan revealed he plans on using Brown in a utility role next season.

?I need to see how Nu develops,? Flanagan told foxsports.com.au.

?Being out all year hasn?t put him behind in his development but we?ll let that unfold and see the way it goes but I think he?s more suited to nine or 13.

?He?ll play a bit of a Ryan Hinchcliffe type role for me.

?He is a footy player and can play six as well so it gives me a lot of coverage for our bench and can play in the back row if he has to.?

Brown began contact work at training this week and will start off sharing the hooking duties with Matt McIlwrick should something happen to Michael Ennis.

While learning the nuances of his new role, he?ll also shadow Luke Lewis and Paul Gallen which only adds to his versatility.

Both men are off-contract at the end of the year and Brown knows he has an opportunity to make the position his own.

?Being a half, it?s different from being in the middle,? Brown told foxsports.com.au.

?You have to run harder lines. I have to get into the hard yakka over the pre-season.

?To have Gal there, it?ll be good to learn from experienced players.

?It?s probably the best thing for my football right now.

?It?s tough with (Luke Lewis) and Gal there but they?re getting older and I?m still young.?

Brown, 21 in December, admitted the 10 months he spent rehabbing his injured knee in what he described as a ?dark time?.

Fortunately he wasn?t alone.

Centre Jacob Gagan injured his achilles which ruled him out for the season, creating a tight bond between the pair as they slowly walked the road to recovery.

?We went through a dark time together,? Brown said.

?It was us together day in, day out. Even off the field we would kick it. We?re pretty tight.

?My family were calling me every day to make sure I was sweet. I was lucky to have good friends there too.?

Sounds like a good utility bench player to me.

Yeah, agree - I would love to see him get a run, as a bench utility...

I find it hard to accept that he's a replacement for Gal... Gal is a totally different player.

Wade has made a great transition from 5/8th to second-row, but we need 'tough nuts' to be the main contributors in the middle.

This goes back to our need for a tough prop...

This is what I'd like to see for 2017 - IF we were to use him that way:

13. Graham
12. Lewis
11. Prior
10. Fifita
9. Ennis
8. Gal

Bench:

14. Taga
15. Nu Brown
16. Bukuya
17. Brailey

2018:

13. Nu Brown
12. Bukuya
11. Graham
10. Fifita
9. Brailey
8. SOMEOENE EXACTLY LIKE GAL

Bench:

14. Taga
15. Prior
16. Another decent PROP
17. McIlwrick

Back to the game...JT and Scot,

Fugg..who do you attack in this Cows line up..its rock solid.

The team needs a big performance here, all over the park.

Stopping the Cows pack, or at least limiting them is for me, the key.Limit the space JT and Morgan will have but we all saw what Scot did to us in the finals last year. Ran straight over the top of our guys.
Then there is my favourite JT of all time, the beast in the second row with the footwork and power.
Then Granville.
Then Felt.
Then Coote.

Another area where the Cows have our measure is the bench use, the starting pack goes off around 30 mins and then comes back in the last 20 and belts the jesus out of merkins, even those with extra jeburs like Taga.
Make no mistake Shark fans this is the biggest match that we have played since the finals last year, and in that game they made us look like Newcastle did against us, second rate.
If we win this one, even I may start to hope.

And Val is deluded saying yesterday that we generally go alright against the cows.
They have won 4 out of 5 at Shark park going back to 08 and last year sure we beat them twice but they killed us when it mattered.
