I would look forward to Hinganos name come out of Cappys mouth let alone the halves. Let alone the bench. Let alone the Warriors!

100%. Great call. Wouldn't it be nice to hear him say Hingano is gunning it in NSW Cup and he's in strong consideration? Tony Iro used his name in the Robson release, but then he said Lino in the same breath...kinda dulled the enthusiasm.

According to NRL.com, futs and Lolo will swap around during the game between wing and full-back.

Also, McFadden is now saying that the reason for Futs at fullback is because of his great form and physicality taking the ball up from defensive zone, rather than 'some issues' with Lolohea's game.

"The change in terms of putting David at fullback, it's more about how well he is playing there [as opposed to Lolohea's form].

"He gives us a different style, and maybe in the game at the moment having a big physical fullback that returns the ball helps us a little bit."

Quite a back-track there. McFadden is his own worst enemy huh.

Having Futs start at fullback is okay by me as I agree with those reasons. Although a 50/50 call really considering his finishing on the wing. Will be very interesting to see how this tinkering works out.

Presumably that means when we have the ball, Fus goes to the wing to take advantage of his finishing, and Tui's ballplaying out the back (though Fus hasn't looked too shabby there in 2 games). When we don't have the ball, Tui sits out on the wing while Fus defends at fullback.

The "big physical fullback" bit is a little odd, though - having that big physical guy on the wing (or two) is just as good as they'll likely be taking the 1st/2nd hit up anyway.

I think cleaning up from kicks Futs has a much better chance of a) getting out of the in-goal area, and b) getting good meters upfield on the kick return.

Maybe...

Yeah...I would've thought an elusive fullback would've been more effective with a partially staggered/unformed defensive line from a kick return, then the next hit-up being more effective with someone who can bend the line with size.

Id say the second hitup duty is definitely Maumalo's at the moment, and to his credit he's doing a Manu like job there. I assume Fus will take the kick return and he'll swap with Tui on the second hitup, Tui will play the roving fullback role on attack then Fus will drop back to FB after the end of our set.

Mannering was knackered after his effort - missed a training to recover - but really if an extra 10mins affects the overall team effort the following week after a normal turnaround then they are weak humanoids.

In other news, Titans doing another cleanout - Douglas, Hoffman, Zillman, Mead...

Might fire them up some against us ...

Tits forum has details.

There have been 8 Golden point games this year so far.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_National_Rugby_League_golden_point_games

So if you take out last weeks 7 games and 14 teams.

9 teams lost the following week, so a 64% losing rate.
3 of those 9 where home the following week.

4 of the 5 winning teams did so at home the following week.

I know its only an extra 10minutes, but will it have an impact on us in any way?
No injuries to my knowledge occured in that last 10mins so I cant see any negatives.

I can only see it as a positive in that we got to go into extra time with a frontrunner team and the experience will be valuable.

They will fire up more than usual and their focus will not let up for a second as some of these guys who are bloody good as it is play to remind the Titans how good they are.

McFadden has a rationale a day... to me suggests (or confirms) he really has little idea

I hope we'll be fired up more than usual too, as we should be aware our season is on the line.

What's happening with the team? Anyone got some late mail?

The reason I ask is the NSW cup late mail...

Potential Afoa & Hingano NRL debuts?

After all, Afoa was warming up with the NRL guys last week and both halves a little shaky.

Also they just hinted at key changes on the TV coverage...

It's a very late change if he isn't going to play. If SJ is so touch and go we held Ata off from playing then we should rest him and give Ata a run. Honestly, Johnson needs a rest, I'm supportive of this if it happens.

Agreed, with the bye next week it is a good time to rest the hammy. Looking forward to seeing Ata Hingano.

Gubb starting :(

Anyway, Mannering captain, and he's been in full beast mode the last few weeks, game 250 I expect him to be huge again... but still a plod according to Iron Lion

I really don't understanding holding Hingano back and then not playing him. If they don't know for sure if SJ will be good to go 2 hours before kick off then he should not be playing. Excited to see Bunty though - met him after the Sharks game last week and told him he should be in the top grade soon - I must have known what I was talking about. He is an absolute beast at Jnrs / Reserves level.
