I like Kent, I just don't see his value on the bench. If Merrit isn't kicking goals then his value drops lower than Kents though. Why not pick a forward or a utility on the bench?

Fact is, kent had a great game the other night. No turnstyles, no drops, good metres.

Kent is a great player, but who would you interchange him with? Hilder at hooker at any stage? Or in the backs? I cant see it. Does he offer alot in attack and does he have a kicking game?

Now you are putting words in my mouth. I have stated several times that I want to see how Bird goes in PL first. We are arguing over nothing. I wouldn't have either of them on the bench this week, if Kent isn't good enough to make the side in the three quarters then I don't want him in the side. Having a back on the bench makes us weaker IMO.

Wrong again. Read the thread again. I want Bird to play PL this week, I have never changed my mind on that. If and when he does come back I think he will be most effectively used from the bench at this stage. That is all I have been saying. Twist it however you want.

At that stage McGoldrick was playing crap(he since has come good) and I was looking for an alternative and I recalled how good Kent had gone at the end of last season, so I put his name forward and got verbally smashed by you and now I'm sick of argueing with you about this.

I'm jsut asking you questions.
You are obviously not alone on the Bird issue.
I even think that what you say is probably going to happen.
In fact it would not have surprised me if he walked straight back into firsts this week.
It's just that if any of those things happen, it hs nothing to do with form or ability, but more so on something else.
I beleive in a fair go. Bird had his. Now somebody else gets a go.
Selection decisions like that cause team harmony problems.

Too long for Russ. Should have happened a long time ago. If we had no injuries at all I would agree but like I said, I won't be making any assumptions until I see Bird play this Sunday. I might even come over to beer hill to watch it with you. That way you can pay out on me when he stuffs up.
