That thought I would share some info if anyone is interested.

Appears the league is getting itself very well organised under David smith.

Previously under gallop junior players just registered themself at the club they played with. NRL didn't collect any real data from the individual players such as email address / who they supported and I doubt they had a central data base of players registered. Thus they really didn't use their pretty decent size junior base for any marketing or other opportunities.

This year it has all changed (which I assume smith is responsible for). All rego is now on line , with the nrl collecting email addresses and information such as which side a junior supports and if they are a nrl club member.

This new rego process gives the nrl a really good avenue for marketing ( a data base with thousands of contact details for fans) and promoting the game. While it is only a small step it shows that under smith the nrl is heading towards a very professional and well run organisation.

The future looks bright for our great game.

To be fair, we were 6 or 7 down for similar scores several times in the Ashes. One obvious difference here is that we didn't win the toss and bat first.
