I have a Maton C80 acoustic, a Martin accoustic (can't remember the model....mid-range), and an 86 Fender Tele (Jap model), but haven't owned an amp for about 20 years (the last one was a Peavey amp that had a pretty awful in-built phaser on it).

Are you a freemason Hollywood? You know if you ever decided to make porn you could call yourself Hollywood Penis.

My great-grandfather was Grand Master of Jamison Lodge, as was his father before him.

I'm not sure yet which camp I sit in in regards to the Illuminati, though. I dig their shit in theory but it just kinda seems arseholish in practice. I guess I'll have to wait until the shit goes down and make a decision on the sperm of the moment.

My Grandfather used to go down to Parramatta Masonic Hall one night a week dressed in his tux. He would not tell me what the Masons do behind closed doors.

I assume that Willie broke the code a few times ?

I see that Murdoch's men Senator Cory Bernardi, The Australian and SkyNews are back in the 18C (Racial Discrimination Act) wagon, spruiking for it's repeal.

Apparently the fact that French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo would not be allowed to publish it's magazine here, is good reason to change the law.

Um, no.

You're making shit up again ...

S18c makes it unlawful for someone to do an act that is reasonably likely to "offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate" someone because of their race or ethnicity.

S18d however contains exemptions which protect freedom of speech. These ensure that artistic works, scientific debate and fair comment on matters of public interest are exempt from 18C, providing that they are said or done reasonably and in good faith.

As I said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So far the majority of people who want it changed are middle aged white dudes. Go figure.

Middle aged white dudes are certainly the most responsible among us. And why wouldn't they be, with the most to lose.

Middle aged white dudes are not the ones who should be deciding on matters of racial discrimination.

Might as well let them decide if tampons should be tapered or not as well.

I thought certain parts of the Golden Globe awards last night was slightly racist...and kind of ironic when you consider America's reaction to a Red Faces act a few years back...was there any difference???

We all discriminate every day based on a variety of factors. Why should race or ethnicity be sacrosanct? It just encourages people to cling to them.

There's nothing in the Racial Discrimination Act that would stop the publication of Charlie Hebdo in Australia - the Mohammed cartoons at least (I have no knowledge of the content outside of that).

For a start, religion is not the same as "race" or "ethnicity" which is all the Act covers. You are quite free to say whatever you like about religion in this country.

As Gronk also mentioned - this debate seems to have conveniently forgotten about s18D which provides a raft of reasonable exemptions to 18C.

Calling stuff racism has turned out to be a great way to stifle freedom of speech.
we currently live in a hyper sensitive society that looks for reasons to be offended (the majority seem to, anyway). i guess it makes some people feel mentally healthy and like they are doing something positive if they get offended and express it, even when something isn't offensive.

this segment on tosh.0 made me laugh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDAQQ1K9orE

kinda shows how sensitive people are and how they find ways to be offended.

america has double standards toward racism and what's acceptable and what isn't. after the red faces incident through the uproar (despite 'black face' not having context here) many claimed that no one in america would ever dare do that, even though around the time it was done on 30 rock, sarah silverman did it and even harry "this is offensive" connick jr did it.

there was also a kfc ad soon after where a white guy was at the cricket surrounded by windies supporters and the motto was something to do with handling an awkward situation where the guy shares his kfc. an american show picked up on it and went into over-drive about how it was racist because it implies african americans eat fried chicken. didn't matter it had nothing to do with america, that the cricket was sponsored by kfc or that the windies team was also sponsored by kfc apparently there's no other culture in the world different to the usa according to some over there.

The Yanks are going ape shit about the whole ISIS thing and how they are the greatest threat to the US, yet they allow the public to bear arms which kills 10,000 people per year.

Imagine if terrorists killed 10,000 yanks on home soil per year. They would go ballistic.
