You gotta play to win in that scenario IMO.Potential scenario:
Eagles, Niners and Detroit win this week, that would give the lions the tie breaker in the 2 seed and would lock up the nfc east as the eagles would be 2 games up on Dallas with 1 to play
detroit finish with the Vikings and are unlikely to lose that. If this occurs the eagles are basically locked into the 3 seed
At which point I wonder if they’d rest key starters against the giants in the final week and avoid that horrible MetLife turf
or do they play it out hoping the Vikings and/or Rams can pull an upset off with the #1 still theoretically in play?
Decent chance that at least one of rams and Vikings win. They will both be desperate potentially playing for a playoff spot.
I'm with you on your earlier post going all in on the 2 seed by hoping Dallas win this week and relying on us to take care of business. If the 1 seed falls on our lap on the way then all the better. If Dallas win and we slip up in one of the final 2 well then we ain't going far in the playoffs anyways and at this point I'm not sure there is much difference between 3 and 5 seed in the NFC this year. 3 will play rams/Seahawks at home and 5 will play TB/ATL/NO away. 3 has the tougher opponent just at home and either way the 3 and 5 seeds are extremely likely to be on the road in the divisional round.
