Firstly, great to see someone recognise Keith Barnes by including him on the poll. Now onto

The best halfbacks I've seen play are Langer, Johns, Stirling, Stuart. In that order.

I know Lockyer isn't a halfback, but I rate all these guys above Lockyer.

I also rate Clyde, Provan, Ray Price, Lazarus, Webke, Roach, Daley above him.

I admit Provan and Price because of what older heads have told me. I even had old timers tell me that Ray Price was the best forward of 80s and comparable to Raper as a lock. That has to count for something.

I'd have the next immortal as a choice between Langer, Price, Provan or Irvine.

Good point bottle...

Still, as rolls royce as reg is, and as revolutionary as as Raper was, Norm lead the team before they came, Norm then did things as coach not captain.

I would bet Reg and John can't believe they are there before him.

Anyways....For Mine should have been an original....perhaps put 10.

This. It has to be Provan.

His last tour..........Hmmm, was that his 3rd or 4th Kangaroo tour?

4th I believe

How many Kangaroo tours did Mick Cronin go on......?

Rogers........?

How many times did they captain Australia .......?

///////////////

Conveniently forget that Meninga dogged the goal kicking role because he was too lazy. Lets never forget the Wembly test of 94 I think it was, when Meninga threw the pressure of a sideline conversion to win a test in front of 94000 to a very young and very green Dave Furner.

Cronin won more premierships. Cronin scored more points. Cronin made the Kangaroo tour from the obscurity of the Gerringong A grade side. Cronin also retired from test footy, therefore forfeiting his 4 Kangaroo Tours - which, ironically, spanned 13 seasons and not Meninga's 12 due to the 75 World Cup.

Cronin's then record 1971 FG points is a sh*tload better than Meninga's - and the first was scored when he was 26!

Cronin also won 2 Rothman's medals

Cronin set the record for the most points for Australia that Meninga would still not have broken had he not piked out from the goal kicking duties.

And Cronin did all that while running a pub fulltime!!!!!!!!

Cronin has a grandstand named after him. Has Mal even got a friggin hotdog stand named after him?

Besides, when Cronin coached, he didnt need other coaches to coach for him.

Johns can wait his turn

Meninga is one of, if not the most decorated player of all time. SOO, Test and Club football, and he's gone and back it up with being the coach of the the single greatest era of origin football in history

which pushes him up as the SINGLE most decorated player in RL history. Meninga is the next immortal.

Heather would trump him on all counts. Unfortunately, Both dogged the goal kicking duties. Cronin, who also won the official POTY twice when Meninga never won it once, and won more GF's than Meninga (who was part of a cheating win) was better than Mal. Back to the original point, so was Sludge Rogers.

Joey has the lot covered though.

I honestly think this will go to QLDer this time around..

It MAY go to Provan, but I won't be a least bit surprised if It's Meninga..

Johns will be in the mix the next time around..
