The immortal concept has to go. Both Lockyer and Johns will be immortals but Fittler and Stuart won't be. Time to make the hall of fame bigger than it is.

Agree. The Hall of Fame should be the pinnacle.

Surely Sterlo should be included in this group of players. 2 Rothmans medals, 2 dally M player of the year, inaugural clive churchill medallist etc. Definitely the best player I have season during the 80's behind Wally Lewis.

I wish they had of just left the original immortals group as they were and continued using the Rugby League Hall of Fame to honour the greats of the game.

However, whoever gets voted in between Johns, Meninga or Provan deserves it & I hope LU accepts the decision respectfully.

It's farcical that only 1 is being inducted this time around. IMO all 3 favourites (Provan, Meninga, Johns) are worthy of the status and should be included as well as Ken Irvine.

Provan's record says it all. In a team of champions he is a colossal figure. The cons for Norm are only that he was previously overlooked. So what.
Meninga's record is also magnificent even moreso when you consider his career looked over pre 1989. The fact that he was stupid enough to say 'league has given me nothing' shouldn't count against him.
Johns was brilliant. At his best he was the best I've seen. He used drugs during his career but the immortal concept isn't about being a 'role model' it's about being a f**king good footballer.

Irvine scored 212 tries, 171 of them for norths! Enough said.
