Has to be Fitler for mine. Steve Price going to the Warriors was an equally if not better signing than Civo too IMO. And I'll probably get a hammering for suggesting this, but if we're talking up players in their prime when Brett Kimmorley left Melbourne for the Northern Eagles he was holding Joey out of origin and test jerseys.

Noddy went to the Eagles in 01 and if memory serves Joey was out for the entire Origin series. In 2000 he "relegated" Johns to hooker in the Kangaroos squad and he came off the bench in Origin with Toovey at hooker.

Having close sexual relations with the coach to get plum rep jobs does NOT mean you are the best, and therefore not eligible in this discussion.

The point of the exercise is to pinpoint top class Test standard players changing clubs during their peak years. None of those you listed bar Horder and Hyde (Wilson was 36 when he joined Norths). All good signings though

And still captained the NSW and Australian teams.

I think Steve Edge has to be there even though he never played a test.
Edge was graded with the St George Dragons in 1972 and that year played in the club's premiership winning third grade side.
He became a regular first grader from 1974 and played in the 1975 Grand Final side that lost to the Eastern Suburbs Roosters. Edge captained the 1977 Dragons' side, playing in the historic 1977 drawn Grand Final and subsequent replay victory the following week. Edge battled for his first grade spot in 1978 and 1979 but found his best form to play in Saints' 1979 Grand Final winning side captained by Craig Young.
In 1980 Edge signed with the Parramatta Eels under coach Jack Gibson and captained the Eels to three consecutive Grand Final wins from 1981 to 1983. Edge was regarded as a fine on-field leader, never an overly flashy player with the ball. He had to overcome a serious eye injury (detached retina and punctured iris) to take his place in the 1984 Grand Final and retired after his club’s narrow 6-4 loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Yes but if you include Edge you can include a thousand options. There is a reason Edge never plyed test footy. He wasn't up to it. He was a great captain and hard worker. he was a good dummy half, but a crap hooker with stats usually in the high 40%. There is a reason why Max Krilich, Ray Brown and Dr George got the rep gigs

I don't think Steve Rogers played anymore rep footy after he first left the Sharks.

Also Peter Jackson Brisbane Norths 1991

Ben Ikin Norths Brisbane 2000

You're pretty much correct. My overall point stands that Kimmorley was playing so well at the time, that he was pretty much demanding NSW and Australian selection to the point where he was rivalling Andrew Johns, one of the greatest players of all time, for his rep jumpers. As far as big signings go, he may not have been the biggest name compared to the rest in the list, but certainly when he signed with the Eagles it was one of the biggest signing coups in the last 10 years when you consider the calibre of clubs that were throwing money at him, and how much?

It was a time where Joey's versatility went against him. Geez the depth for halves were so good then, so was their form.

This. The current Test and Origin half singing for the Northern Eagles were huge.
