Dean Pay - Dogs to Eels
Jim Dymock - Dogs to Eels
Jason Smith - Dogs to Eels
Anthony Mundine - Dragons to Broncos
Jamie Lyon - Eels to St Helens to Manly

BTW, you state that the criteria involves not having players who were forced out of their club, yet you have Inglis in your list.
He wouldn't have left if he or Melbourne had a choice.

Yes, Inglis would have left.

Afterall, he wanted to "go to Brisbane to be with his girlfriend".

I actually said a player relesed by a club with no other options - thinking Gold Coast signing Wally because by a freak of nature (Bennet) they suddenly had the test captain and QLD living god knocking on the door looking for a job. Wally with a young family and making a living being Queensland's king was not going to up and move his family to North Ryde.

Inglis had 3 clubs make firm offers. Brisbane, Gold Coast and Souths - and the rest sounded him out.

Don't wory, I know the true history of Saints. 1921. Earl Park, Ray Lindwall and all that.

Its just that, given the St Merge banter, Gaba the NRL's most unhinged Red V wearer promoted bloody Weyman and Boyd as the best players Saints have ever signed. What conclusion would you draw ffs????

Ellery Hanley to Balmain 1988
Wally Lewis to the Broncos
Mal Meninga to Canberra

But above all of those and all listed in the poll

Brian Bevan from Easts to Warrington

from 1942 to 1946 Bevan played 7 games for Easts, kicking 1 goal.
In 1946 he shifted to Warrington, where he stayed until 1962, scoring 830 odd tries in just under 700 games.

If we want to go further.

Duncan Thompson when signed by Toowoomba from North Sydney.

Also, some of those players weren't at the peaks of their careers, as you suggest

Bob Fulton - Manly - Easts 1977
Petero Civoniceva - Brisbane - Penrith 2009
Les Boyd - Wests - Manly 1982
Steve Rogers - Cronulla - St George 1982

Were all nearing the end of their careers

i voted for Fittler and Tallis .
However many missing , which changed dynamics of teams

supported premiership drives

Ian Roberts Souths to Manly
Ron Coote Souths to Roosters ( followed by Elwyn Walters , Mike Cleary)
Lazarus from Broncos to Storm
Pittard from Wests to Souths

also whilst not leading to premierships supported improved performances
Bob McCarthy Souths to Bulldogs ( also followed by Gary Stevens)
