I think what frustrates everyone about Blair is that he is supposed to be our star-marquee back rower and is just an average player.
500k per season is a lot. You could pay that and get someone like Sam Burgess or Fensom, which would make an immediate huge difference to our pack.
It's just unfortunate that Blair can't live up to this expectation.

I believe the blame lies only with Blair's manager. Why? Because that genius managed to convince Tim Sheens he was worth 500k per season and probably hyped him up secretly. Blair probably shat his pants when he heard 500k a season....not like he's going to say no?

Don't forget where he came from, and why he left...

Has got to be replaced by Patterson.

In a dominant forward performance he was the only one not to shine.
You simply cannot drop any other forward.

He needs to make way for Patterson, if not then BMM or when Sironen returns.
His position is no longer tenable.

You need to get off the ElephantJuice. He was really good out there. I think he has been basically a waste of space but tonight he was quality. He was also good last week,

Yeah I thought Blair was fairly good out there tonight. Probably still not value for money but getting close. Gavet will be missing for a couple of weeks anyway I suspect so Patto will get his chance

Prefer Patterson or BMM.

Maybe but its not like it is a clear cut decision. Patterson hasn't proved jack shit for us yet. BMM has been hot and cold even compared to Blair.

Blair to me deserves his spot at the moment however that could change. I don't want him resigned because he is on too much money and we have so many good forwards available and I assume there will be more coming through. The thing is though at this point he deserves his spot and he has been playing well.

I've been his harshest critic but Blair was pretty good last night. I've been saying that all he needs to do is add an offload to his game. His offload for Simona's second try was awesome. It's such a small adjustment to his game, but it increases his value ten fold.

He was good....which is a nice change.

But....he was still the least effective forward out there.

Prefer Patterson or BMM.

If the goal of this thread is fair appraisal of Blair's performances you are failing. He was good last week and very good last night.

I've been very critical of Blair and Bojangles in the past but they've been excellent in the last two weeks, along with the rest of the forwards.

Blair's performance last night was in stark contrast to the corresponding game last year when he stopped tackling.

Great offloads, attempted quick pay the balls and little else.

Arm grabs galore, missed tackles, seldom makes initial contact in D, stops at the line and doesnt bend the line, penalties, turnovers, always dominated when in possession.

Effort was there. I suggest he rightly feels threatened by the depth and impact of other forwards at the club and is showing more effort this season. His offloads give us a new dimension.

Entire backrow was ordinary.
Front row was barely a pass.

I thought Blair was one of our best out there. He really put in. Anasta was also good.

Wished he would cut all the shit out in the play the ball...always giving away penalties in defense or losing possession f**king around trying to milk Penalties, im over it!

He wasn't our worst but he was far from good. His rushing out of the line to shirt grab is killing us though. Anasta had a great first half.

Another low impact performance.
Niggle, penalties, dominated in the tackle every time.
Wasnt bad but just offering very little to the team.

Taupau and Gavet and co. are making him look very second rate not through thier energy but through the quality of thier work. Blair's work has zero quality.

Bloody hell, we just took out one of the competition's heavyweights and some posters are getting stuck into our players.

I thought he was decent today and has been this year bar round 1

Agreed I thought he was pretty good. He's finally adding a consistent offload to his game. I know he's been the whipping boy around here but I thought he was pretty decent again today. Anasta is once again our weakest link. Average passing game and some school boy handing errors. A couple of his bombs were pretty good.

This thread is a critique his performance. Win, lose or draw he gets fairly critiqued.

Im very surprised people are generally satisfied with his performances this year.

Through five rounds I think he has played one good game, one satisfactory game and three really ineffectual games. Compared to he rest of the pack he is still underperforming.

I don't think anyone gets up and plays the ball quicker than him, this helps the team more than you'd think.

Today he threw a couple of really good, quality offloads.
