Yeah I thought he played well today. Think of it this way, if he was getting $200k per season nobody would really scrutinize him and just be happy with the positives that he brings.
Obviously heavy scrutiny comes with the big salary and I'm sure Blair accepted this a long time ago.

This thread is a critique his performance. Win, lose or draw he gets fairly critiqued.

Its you mate. You can't admit it when he plays well. I think most punters can see he is playing well however he must have done something to you at some point because your critique is far from fair.

He has been really good this year. He isn't a player like Taupau or Gavet but if we have players like that he can add to the team.

Overpaid for what he offers us but if we pay Tedesco what the media are pushing us to pay he will be overpaid as well.

Hard to compare two young bull front rowers to an ageing backrower who has always played his game differently. If you are complaining about his runs etc now you must not have watched him at the Storm because this style of play as per yesterdays game is where he was at his most effective as it helped the team.

Our two most maligned players had really good games yesterday. Anasta, save a few later errors, was perfect for the team and Blair did what he needed too for fill his role in the side.

Blair did some good stuff in regards to quick play the balls and offloads when held, something he is particularly good at.

Totally agree. They have both been good so far this year. Its surprising but its better than the alternative.

Faaaaaaaark! Pains me to say it but gee I thought he was good last night in all areas.
Would love to see that every week. Offloads are invaluable.

The young guys are giving him a benchmark giving him nowhere to hide and his performances are improving as a result. Previously he would drift in and out of games and not really give a f**k but that was par for the course for most of the team. Now that attitude wont cut it in 2014 with anmals like Gavet and Taupau and Ava and Sue breathing down his neck. I expect many more games like tonight.

Probably his best game since v Melb in 2012.

I am eating my words as well.

Last 2 games and against Souths he has been very good.

Where has this been the last 2 years?

It seems a clear case of an average player being lifted by the performance of his team mates around him.

The way this year is going, next week Braith will score a hat trick and set up 2 others.

I think Blair is finally starting to figure out his role in the team. At first we wanted him as the wide running backrower he was at Melbourne...that failed terribly. Then we wanted him at Prop, we saw big improvement but still not satisfied. Now at Lock he is really starting to show value.

I think he's back at the weight he feels comfortable playing at, in a strong forward rotation. It was a big year for him and he's stepping it up, I'm even willing to look past his role in dislocating Farah's elbow.

I thought he was excellent on Saturday night. Hit the line straight and hard, a few good offloads, effective in defence. He is really playing well.

Good to see him getting some wraps on here as well. Nice to know we can all judge his performances fairly on a week to week basis without any previous stigma clouding our judgement.

That game v Nth Qld is his benchmark.
Its not rocket science.
Run hard, hit hard, pop the odd ball and do the 1%ers.
If he does that he will have plenty of supporters.

Good to see him going well more consistently. Negative posts can get tiresome, even when validated.
He has always had the offload in him, plenty of times in the past he was looking for an off load but ending up looking like a stale bottle of piss as there was no support.

I didn't get a chance to check the replay, but i am sure it was his collision with Farah to assist in the tackle that dislocated his elbow, a la his tackle that broke Lote's arm in similar fashion. Anyone notice, or was I imagining it?

Yep,Blair looks like he was the main culprit in Farah's injury, just one of those unfortunate incidents that happen in a contact sport causing injury.
