Proof about what?Jimbo said:There was proof. Read the other thread...
The bottom line is if they were truthful in the beggining and not try to score political points on this issue, this thread would not exist.
The photo that Peter Reith produced?millersnose said:these photos were of children in the sea
sort of a moot point really

I'll concede that I don't care. And neither should anyone else.
Do you concede that these people showed horrific neglect of their children?
They showed tremendous devotion to get them to a better place.

A key United Nations clearance expert has expressed concern about the similarity of the coloring of the yellow BLU-97/B cluster bomblets and the small yellow food aid parcels being airdropped in Afghanistan, noting that people are being encouraged to pick up the food parcels, but that picking up a bomblet would be lethal. He said, "Our experiences show us that children and youths were highly susceptible to the submunitions . It is highly likely that many in Afghanistan will not know the difference between aerially delivered food aid and aerially delivered munitions."
"Many bombs were dropped in residential and other populated areas and the Mine Action Centre is doing their best to deal with all the emergency cases. However, they do not have enough human, logistical and other necessary resources to clear the region effectively within an acceptable period of time." (Médecins Sans Frontières website www.msf.org, January 18, 2002, 'Cluster bombs the legacy to Afghan population')

Well no, the bottom line is that if these parents werent neglectful of their children, the government wouldnt have had to deal with the issue.

Jenny McKenry is not a lie detector test. She was the head of defence public affairs at the time.

Still, the speculation can't be doing Mr Howard much good. At the very least, he is defending himself in the news and not selling the Govt's agenda.
