An African-American Perry White and a ranga Lois Lane. Talk about breaking the mould!

it's not even about that, Fishburne was kick-ass in King of New York, deadpan cool in Boyz N Tha Hood, to then softcocking it on a washed up show like CSI? i just hope he's able to channel his inner Furious Styles

It'll be a good movie I think. Can't wait for it to be released so we can get flooded with Thor 2: the Dark world tv spots and trailers since all the momentum is with man of steel now.

A sequel already announced by Warner Bros:

Will you like Man of Steel? Warner Bros are so confident you will, that even before it had its world premiere on Monday they were already fast-tracking the sequel.
In the process they have locked in Zack Snyder to direct again, Christopher Nolan to return as producer and David Goyer to take up the super-pen where he left off. Not only that, Goyer has also been given writers duty on Justice League – DC Comics' answer to The Avengers.

Jeez they can't just rush into Justice League like that. They should have thought more about it before they made the last Batman movie and the Green Lantern movie. Rushing into it as an answer to The Avengers will end up with it failing. They really need to build a story for it. At the moment they have three characters recently rebooted in Batman, Green Lantern and Green Arrow. Using different versions of these characters might be too soon.

Saw Man of Steel tonight.

I'm a traditionalists, so some parts just gave me the shits. Especially the climax of the movie.
I felt it was a bit too rushed for me. They were trying to fit so many parts of the superman universe into it that some things got lost. I think that's what I liked about superman returns. It was simple, not crammed.

Man of Steel felt like a modernised version of the comic book idea of Superman.

I liked it, but I don't think many of my fellow traditionalists will be very pleased.

I enjoyed it.

Felt more like a sci-fi movie than a comic book movie. The alien aspect of Superman has a heavy presence in the movie, and I liked that.

The final fight scene between Supes and Zod was pretty cool. It had a dragonball z type feel to it. But I did feel they packed a whole lot in the final quarter of the film, kinda like a Michael Bay film at times.

No Lex at all, but there were quite a few Lexcorp trucks in the background in some scenes which might suggest they're setting him up as the villain in the sequel.

Zod was a very good villain, I was just disappointed there was no "Kneel before Zod" line. Russell Crowe was great as Jor-El.

The flashbacks to Clark's early life worked really well. I was expecting a chronological storytelling of his origin and early life, but I enjoyed the flashbacks.

Overall, it was a good movie. Not Dark Knight standard, but it definitely made up for the crap that was Superman Returns.

just got back from seeing it, i'm with tezza, anyone expecting to see a retelling of Donner's 1978 film will come away with a sour look on their face.

looks like it's going to be a film i'll enjoy the more i see it, like the dark knight rises.

rusty was excellent as Jor-El, though my heart is still with Brando and his blinding white hair. Michael Shannon sure can play angry, but yes, a "Kneel before Zod" line would have sealed the deal.

6/10 with a couple of points in reserve for when i get the blu-ray :)

Man of Steel was a mess. Story was put together all over the shop, no real flow to it until the end. Action was good but blurry in the sense that it felt like it was filmed on hand held camera because it was. Zod never felt threatening in the same way Bane, Loki or Red Skull did. It was hard watching the Law and Order guy cause all I kept thinking was, he is acting just like he does in Law and Order. Henry Cavill did a great job as Clarl/Kal/Superman though, he captured the essence of the character it's just a shame the rest of the movie didnt. Still better than Superman Returns, Superman 3 and 4: Quest for Peace.

I'm thinking Thor: The Dark World will be the years best comic book movie along with Kick Ass 2: Balls to the Walls..

Sadly, I agree.
