How is it overloading? Dr strange will be nothing like any previous movie, ant man might have elements from say iron man and perhaps new cap america as far as action ad sequences go. Thor is its own thing, guardians of the galaxy is their Star Wars in a sense..

MCU is great. Original and fresh and as long as they keep hiring good actors and directors while having good scripts, how can anyone complain? Enjoy it while it lasts I say. By 2017 we'd have seen

Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians Of The Galaxy
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Ant-Man
Dr. Strange: Sorceror Supreme (announced by Feige but not officially)
Black Panther (rumour)
Thor 3 (all but guaranteed)
Captain America 3 (all but guaranteed)
The Indestructible Hulk (rumour)
The Avengers 3

Because it's over-saturation. There's no need for so many superhero movies and they are beginning to become repetitive. As of now only Iron Man and The Avengers of those listed can say they are great superhero movies. The rest are average.
On top of those we have more X-Men movies and a needless Spiderman reboot. Then on the other side we have yet another Batman reboot and a completely rushed DC universe to try and compete with Marvel.

And I wouldn't call it original and fresh.

Speaking of overload...2015

Avatar 2
Next Jurassic Park
Star Wars VII
Avengers 2
and now...
Superman-Batman-movie.jpg

Most of these movies would likely be in the top 3 grossing films of the year if they came out any other year.

Well that's your opinion. I think its great, they make great flicks. No different to the 80s cop buddy or action star movies or the 50's westerns. Keep em coming, fans lap them up and even the worst movies like ghostrider still make money. I'd rather that then twilight or some shit.

Saw the Wolverine. It wasn't a bad movie just kind of pointless. Was it really needed?

I wish I stayed around til after the credits, because it sounds like it was the best scene in the whole movie.

Professor X is back along with Magneto. They track down wolverine and ask for his help.

Sure was pointless. It was just some wolverine side story that didn't tie in with anything.

And yet they would all be far more entertaining than The Walking Dead.

That was the one thing I thought was good about it because thats what Wolverines comic are...

as a film though it was kinda okay...

**EDIT upon thinking about my comment above acutally thats what all the movies are really... Iron Man 3 tied into Avengers about as much as Wolverine did to the Xmen series... Winter Soldier looks like it will tie in heavily whereas Dark World apparently is as stand alone as you can get...

I thought the Wolverine was a good film. Nothing groundbreaking or oscar worthy but an entertaining few hours. Gets extra points for the credits scene.

I enjoyed wolverine quite a bit. Some cheesy one liners which was good. The bar scene was pretty good.

100% bud...

Actually quick question for everybody here, does anybody else have this sort of innate nagging issue with the XMen films they cant quite put their finger on.

To me it seems that the first 3 XMen movies, maybe with the second one being the exception seemed to be made in a time when Superhero movies were done differently? i.e Fantastic 4 movies compared to Iron Man, Thor, Cap ect... Mind you thats coming from somebody who enjoyed the Spidey reboot much more then I ever did the Toby McGuire movies.

Something about the casting of McEvoy and Faustbender in First Class made me realise while McKellan and Stewart LOOK the part for Magneto and Prof.X the casting just seems slightly off in the other Xmen movies?

or is that something i have to deal with myself lol

Eh I'm probably the opposite. I like the Raimi Spidermans much more than the reboot. The first and second x-men movies I thought were great. The first one is a little bit dated and cheesy now but it was pretty much the film that brought the new wave of superhero movies. I enjoy Stewart and Mckellan more than their younger counterparts. A lot of the casting in first class I thought was off. I like the original Mystique a lot more. The characterisation in first class was just strange, and I thought the rest of the movie was great.

For X1 and X2, I thought Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Sabretooth, Toad, Mystique and Nightcrawler were all great. However Cyclops was underused and Storm was overused. Then in X3 they were all underused in what could have been a great film, but they f**ked it.
First Class was a good film but I didn't enjoy the cast that much. And some scenes were way too cheesy especially with Mystique. I also didn't enjoy some of the changes to the backstory they made.

X Men First Class is by far the best film of the series.

With any luck Days of Future Past will change that.
