I've never seen him in anything, but I have heard he has talent.
Apart from their casting of Wonder Woman (and some people would argue, Batman) WB have talented people attached to their projects. And I could be wrong about Gal Gadot, and I hope I am. I've only ever seen her in F&F, so I don't have much to judge her on.

Big rumours going around that Iron Man will be in Captain America 3, and that the story will set up a big-screen version of the Civil War storyline.

If true, I wonder if it's the right decision. Fanboys have been calling for a Civil War movie since the MCU started, but it is not the same world as in the comics. Civil War is centred around the government forcing superheros to give up their secret identities...but in the MCU there are no secret identities. Everyone knows who Iron Man is. Thor is just Thor. The whole of New York saw Bruce Banner turn into the Hulk. Steve Rogers has a whole section of the Smithsonian in his honour. Black Widow ended Cap 2 in a congressional hearing. They will have to change the story considerably (especially since Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men can't be in it).

Still just a rumour though...but it is gaining a lot of traction.

Perfect casting for ultron. Menacing, but in complete control of his emotions.

The only other actor I could envisage coming close to Spader would be Benedict Cumberbatch. I loved him as Khan and his interpretation of Smaug, and I hope hope hope he pops up in a Marvel movie (*cough*Dr Strange*cough*)
