Both movies had good ideas, but they were just executed terribly.
Superman IV had its budget slashed so much they had barely any money for effects.
And I do think the script for III was better written than IV.

Apparently the original idea for III was to have Supes up against Brainiac, but the studio forced them to put in Pryor, so they made him out to be some computer genius.

Tim Burton was going to bring Brainiac to life on his version of Superman, with Nick Cage as superman:

i actually thought superman iv was better than iii...

Iv was just rushed and could have been so much better if a bit more thought had of gone into it. The whole thing of superman fighting against nuclear weapons was fantastic. At the time, the whole world was terrified of nuclear war and it could have/touched on that a fair bit.

Also, of note, the only reason why christopher reeves agreed to do superman iv was if the movie touched on the fight against the nuclear arms race. Which he was passionate about. reeves was a great man.

on the sneak peak, i dare say that's going to be superman being controlled/influenced by luthor.

As far as trailers go, I found it underwhelming. Explosions, explosions, explosions, ridiculous Jesse Eisenberg with stupid hair and annoying voice, more explosions, bad cgi monster, cliched pose of the three heroes of the movie.

Zach Snyder is almost as bad as Michael Bay. I hope he's able to insert some sort of story in between the explosions. Doesn't matter anyway...Jesse Eisenberg without a doubt is the biggest fail of this movie,

I think the trailer is f**king terrible.

Showed waaaaay too much. And just so many explosions, USA will have a population of 400 after Man of Steel and this movie.

They should never have shown Doomsday - not just because he looks shit, either.

EDIT: WTF king of take on Lex Luthor is that in this world they've created? He sound like a 13 year old Joker..

What I don't get is why reveal doomsday at all? The movie is three plus months away, and doomsday was their ace in the hole. Not yet confirmed but not yet dispelled. They could've left it as a surprise. But they've spoiled it. And by spoiling it they've also shown how badly they f**ked it up

The Civil War trailer showed Black Panther, but only a slight glimpse of Crossbones and no sign at all of Baron Zemo or Spider-Man. And Age of Ultron kept Vision largely under wraps right until the movie was released (save for a few magazine stills and his eyes at the end of the final trailer). There's a right way and a wrong way to market movies. The BvS: DoJ trailer is the wrong way

Haven't watched it yet and not sure if I want to. Of course I want to but I don't want to see the whole story as people have been saying. I guess reading this forum has told me what we see anyways.

Did they just spoil the entire movie in 3 minutes?

Pretty much showed the three acts.

1) Clark meets Bruce thinking each other is the villan
2) Bats and Supes get ready to have a fight
3) Realise they've been duped and team up with wonder woman and Co to fight the real bad guy.

They really just burst my hype bubble.

Spot on, buddy.

I've been craving a Supes movie with Doomsday for years - a real reason for me, an unabashed Superman disliked, to actually care about Supes.

But they f**ked it right up.

Based purely on the trailers we've seen for each now, Civil War > Dawn of Justice. If it wasn't for Batman I'd probably just skip right past Dawn of Justice.
