The comp leaders (Warriors/Saints)...how far will they go?

Dragons are still well in this. A slump had to come. Their biggest flaw is that their coach is a mong.

Atm you'd have to say the winner of the comp will come from:

Penrith
Dragons
Souths
Storm

A clear gap between the top 4 and the rest has arisen as it often does around midseason.

Of course, Storm look awful and might not be in the top 4 come tomorrow. But I agree Penrith, Souths and Dragons (even after 2 worrying games against the other 2 in the last 3 weeks) easily look the best, at the moment.

I wouldn't write you lads off!!

You're starting to gel nicely!

Any team that has the Stars you have are serious contenders!

We meet again in round 22 I think and I can sense golden point!

Penrith are favourites now and deservedly so. The tag seems to change every few weeks - roosters - warriors - dragons - panthers
Great love you matey.

Keep leaving us out of it...

We just wanna fly under the radar and keep improving each week...

Combos aren't fully there yet either under Seibs.

Still have plenty to improve on!

Very open comp with no real stand outs. On any given day:
Panthers
Dragons
Rabbitohs
Storm
Roosters
Warriors
Sharks
Broncos
could win it.

Warriors are sliding pretty quickly, 3 touch ups in the last 5 games.

I don't think the dragons should worry too much just yet

That’s kind of you but we seem to be falling back to our 2017 form whilst other teams are finding their groove.
Mary giving 5-7 minute cameos for players off our bench isn’t the best forward planning when the going gets tough-which it has.

By not using his bench much he's grinding your guns like JDB into the dust. And it's only mid season.

Mary has no sense of pacing whatsoever.

You missed the Rabbits.

The match ups come finals will be interesting. Penrith look the goods but when was the last time they beat the Storm? They'd like to end that hoodoo.

Previous Warriors teams have been underperformers. This team is different, they are over-performers but don’t have the firepower to match the top teams.

Paasi and Afoa have been great this season but ultimately, a propping rotation of Paasi/Afoa/Gavet/Satae simply isn’t top level. In fact, at the start of the season if I’d told you that was an ISP team’s propping rotation you wouldn’t have blinked. It is what it is. We are always liable to get smashed through the middle unless everyone is absolutely at their best.

Also, not enough credit is given to the fact that in the last 2.5 seasons we have never had SJ, RTS and Luke on the field together for an extended period. That is horrendous luck and it doesn’t look like changing any time soon- SJ can’t seem to string 2 games together without an injury, RTS went off injured last night and Luke is apparently ‘managing’ a shoulder injury which needs surgery.

Don’t get me wrong, the Warriors problems in recent years run deeper than injuries- but not being able to get our 1, 7 and 9 on the field at the same time has been a bit of a disaster.

Oh yeah. I’d have Rabbits after daylight

I honestly hope that’s the top 8 come end of the season. As long as #PenaltyBroncos don’t make it

Which, if 2017 hadn’t have happened I wouldn’t be looking back in anger.
He seems hell bent on doing it his way - McStubborn.

It just seems to me like McGregor puts way too much emphasis on the off season prep and getting off to a big start.

Every year is the same with them. They get off to a flyer, playing with maximum intensity from the beginning. The hype starts to build, there are a bunch of articles in the papers about how strong their off season was. Usually some mention of how fit MacGregor is because he did all the off season training with them. They look like world beaters for about the first 8 rounds.

Then by about rounds 10-12 the wheels start to fall off. You can literally see the frustration of the players and McGregor because what they were doing before isn’t working anymore. Main reason probably being because they are already becoming tired and injured from going too hard too soon in the early rounds.

Maybe that’s over simplifying what’s going on but that’s how it looks to me.
