I was only thinking about that original Contender last night and remembered how the cowboy from TX got beat and at the end broke down crying in front of Stallone and actually apologised.
There was no need to but he did.
He even got up and walked off without explanation leaving all gobsmacked.

The last I saw of Briggs he, got knocked out by some old guy a while back.

briggs' last defeat was against adamek in his world title rematch a couple of years ago, a fight which he wasnt the busier fighter but clearly landed the heavier punches and should of won. he lost a majority decision. i know he lost a fight early in his boxing career, but im pretty confident he has never been knocked out in boxing anyway. maybe you are thinking of his brother nathan briggs the heavyweight?

Jnr was robbed... well and truly. and dont hide behind the editing. the fact the crowd started booing and the fact that Briggs risked an automatic 18 month suspension from boxing and corner work by approaching the judges about the decision says something stupid happened.

all i know is.... if Victor was the pre-tournament favorite, then the rest of the fighters are really poor.

his so called power was nowhere to be seen. a half decent fighter with a half decent jab will just stick and move for 5 rounds and beat him easily.

and what the f*ck is up with St Brett??? dude... you need to take a chill pill and just enjoy it for what it is... its boxing on TV abit of drama and abit of boxing... you dont have to watch a Pacman-Esq display to enjoy boxing.

Saw the full fight last night. It was definitely closer than the highlights. Victor O was certainly pushing the action more which sometimes the judges go for over clean shots and good combinations.

Very likely Fox played this to get people talking.
