Lol we named 17 players against 25 we didn't have reni, smith or hayne (might not seem like much but to our team that's a bit to lose). It's a bloody trial everyone is acting like its round 24 heading into the finals. It's not even round 1. You don't get a good gauge till around round 10 with some clubs. I don't think we will make the 8 either but if you're getting ya hopes up after a trial then you may be in for a rude shock.

Like I said storm got pumped by raiders who were missing 10 regular starters while storm only pretty much missed their big 3. Will storm go shit now? Obviously tigers came out harder then us which isn't desired but like I said its a trial so I'm not overly worried yet

Yes it's just a trial but it's still not pretty.
For the Ricky doubters, of which I'm one, it points to a potential confirmation of what we suspected might happen.
Still plenty of water to flow under the proverbial yet, granted.

Sticky's time at the Eels will define his career.

If he's learnt from his mistakes he could be a very good coach.

But he's such a stubborn prick you expect him to fall back into his old ways when the pressure is on.

Origin demonstrated he still has his bizarre infatuation with back rowers - that alone will stuff a team after 3 years.

everyone has their own opinions in here. You say you're not getting your hopes up because you beat us in a trial. I'm not getting overly worried because we lost a trial match. Is there something the matter with that? No

And no I'd didn't go but I saw highlights on tigers site. Yes we got dominated but again only a trial man nothing to get excited over. Like I said I usually get a gauge of our side by round 10.

Ill admit I can say some stupid shit on here that are bias but its getting tiresome seeing him keep ragging on me in every bloody post. Clearly had no life. (I don't have him on ignore as I hate doing it because it cuts parts of the convo out if they arnt quoted

I see Miller described Sticky as a "halfback killer". Interesting that one of the greatest halfbacks in the history of the game should turn out to be a dud coach of halfbacks.

What are the eels going to do with Norman? He is a glorified Ben Roberts at five eighth, Luke Kelly seems a way better option. Norman would go ok at FB but not a sniff of that while Haynes around. Seems an odd recruitment if true.

i agree he has Ben Roberts qualities BUT in his favour is his youth. Has time to grow and adapt his game to a style ricky wants us to play. Roberts is set in his ways hence why he is probably going to be a utility option. That way he can be hooked easier without losing a play maker. Kelly will probably become a utility type role.

It's the only option they have. Pay someone far more then he is worth as noone else will match it. They realise they need to stop targetting players like Bird, Tony Williams, Tamou, Scott, Te'o, SBW, Folau etc.
