That's a bit harsh coming from a Pink Floyd fan...

Maybe not, but they were never too averse to indulgence...
hey Interstellar overdrive and echo's were not too long!

And the blow up animals and big brick wall were not indulgent.

Not to mention the whole "The Wall" album, but then I've touched on that before.

The more I listen to Seven Swans and Illinois, the more I agree that Sufjan Stevens is just freaking brilliant. People who aren't hearing this stuff are sadly missing out...

Reznor's style is too one-dimensional and doesn't have a broad appeal (did I mention I dislike his music).

One dimensional??? Maybe you should actually listen to his music before you go around denouncing artists. I realise you dislike his music, but that's no reason to voice uneducated opinions about it.

To qualify for the top 5 of this poll, you have to pretty much be a household name. He isn't.

He only appeals to a relatively narrow range of music fans.

I like John Coltrane but I understand his limitations in a broader perspective.

Well that's my interpretation anyway.

Being the best guitarist on the planet and selling 10 records because your music bites tends to disqualify you.

Selling 50 million albums doesn't necessarily qualify you either.

Just my opinion though...

Dave grohl pffft, i could find better guitar players at the local tavern than grohl.

Huh ?

(me)as a guitar player of 18 years I think he goes alright.

Checked the charts lately, mate??? NIN's new album and 2 singles seem to be doing pretty f**king well for a band with a "relatively narrow range of music fans".

Look, you said you disliked their music. No one's holding that against you, but you are clearly uninformed and uneducated about NIN. So I would probably stop digging now if I were you, before you get buried in your own mess.
