I've never seen a team so consciously forfit a season like this. I mean Brown has basically said 'yes we know we are shit and have no chance at all this year'. That's one way to take the pressure off I suppose. How do the sponsors feel about this???

I don't know if this is really "building for the future" when you are destroying all your young players confidence by letting them get humiliated every weak.

Not sure if anyone has been to Newcastle of late but it isn't exactly booming nor is it the busy big "small" town it once was.

Between the reduction in mining, petroleum and other infrastructure the whole area is struggling. Its a town that's been pillaged time and time again in recent years and it will take a lot to rebuild it to anywhere near is former glory. Tinkler and Bennett set the place back 5 years at least.

The team is struggling but how do you attract people to play and live there? I used to enjoy the place but it's a shadow of its former self.

As a Souths supporter, I sat through and attended all those drubbings. The Roosters Anzac Day massacre, the Warriors, the Tigers.

Red and green was red for anger and frustration and green for jealousy as I sat there watching good teams tear us apart.

It does get better, but f**k me its hollow hearing that when your team is the one on the skids. Chins up Knights fans it will get better but f**k me, it'll sound hollow tonight.

Show me a competition in the world where one side doesn't go through a rebuilding phase like Newcastle?

Granted, the Knights have gone to extraordinary circumstances blooding more players in recent memory but it's just the lengths they've gone to rebuild as a club. If they were concerned about 2016, they wouldn't be making the sort of selections they currently are.

If we sat around waiting for every club to be competitive, the game will never grow.

I saw someone post on here today something along the lines of " last time I saw a team put on 62-0 it was us on souths, i never thought that we'd become a club like that'.
When won the premiership the first thing I thought of was every single one of those floggings and how sticking through the club through all those periods was worth it for that one moment of glory.
