Try telling that to someone from the towns in Northern England. English Rugby League fans are mental.

But I know you've probably never left Victoria.

South Africa, Wales........, Fiji
In South Africa soccer is thier religion, cricket and Union are minor sports in comparison and predominantly played by whites who make up about 7% of the population.

Union fans like to claim Wales but soccer beats it on every metric.

Fiji ? I'll give you that one and you could probably add Samoa, but won't be long until the NRL takes over ;)

In fairness, apart from the Raiders sideline reporter, everything I've seen the Americans are calling it "NRL", that's what they'll be googling.

Besides, no one is watching the Wallabies.
Except for the ones that forget the NRL's name, google Australian Rugby, Australia Rugby, or Rugby Australia instead, and get the Wallabies as the first result and end up confused.

This is exactly the reason the NRL should consider changing it's name to the Australian Rugby League and paying Google to give it priority in the search listings. The NRL being the the first thing that people engage with when looking for Australian rugby would be a subtle but powerful marketing and promotional tool.
