The 2025 WC was originally pencilled in for USA/Canada until the finances fell through. Union have thier 2031 in the USA.
success at Vegas could help a USA World Cup bid
Possibly a better match up for the prime time game would have been Panthers V Warriors. The Raiders don't have any players that can get the crowd to thier feet. Not meaning to be overly disrespectful to either club, but am I the only one a tad disappointed that possibly the biggest ever TV audience for a Rugby League game, the showpiece game that we're using to market our game to the american sporting public in a massive way, is going to be played between the Warriors and freakin' Canberra?
I suspect the thinking behind it is that Canberra is Australia's capital city, thus more known than a suburb within Sydney. And New Zealand is an entire country, thus also more recognisable to the american audience.
I'd suggest a matchup of two ball-playing teams, relatively evenly matched, representing places the american people are likely to have heard of would be Sydney and Brisbane ... however they were in Vegas this year, so they're out.
I doubt the NRL would pay Snoop Dogg 500k a day as is rumoured he's been paid to be seen at the Olympics, but it can't be denied he's getting the games plenty of attention.Sounds a great way to pss away even more of the games money
I reckonthat was a Vlandys ideaUSA to play Greece (Men's & Women's Tests) the day before the NRL in Vegas quadruple header
USA to follow up SA tour with Vegas double-header against Greece

I bought tickets in this area during presale and all pink bays were available to purchaseI'm gonna go out on a limb and assume Elite experience hasn't sold out and they are being held back for Travel Packages and will be released to the public closer to the game
Seemed more of a Fox Sports circle jerk than rugby league lol all they talked about was how amazing Fox was and how none of this would be possible without Fox
Warriors were a top 4 side when the sides were names so they earned it and it looks like they’re backing it with fan support. Raiders probably got a bit lucky, I’d say that the NRL likely didn’t want to send all the big draw cards at once so they picked one draw card team and one lower ranked team to go with last years winners.@emesssea "Well with zero recognition do you think most of us will know if youre sending us a premier matchup vs an also rans matchup?"
I think I said in an earlier post for anyone tempted to go who might do a bit of research before hand and see that these two teams hadn`t exactly set the world on fire over the last few decades.
"Someone joked that US fans might thing its the All Blacks, thats not too far fetched to think."
Saw that post and thought the same thing. All-Blacks or not, article in yesterday`s paper saying that 32% of tickets sold far had been bought by Kiwis. Cameron George Warriors` CEO said Kiwis were scrambling to find ways of getting there, a charter flight direct to LV sold out in 17 minutes, George also said they are expecting a large roll up pf Kiwi ex-pats living in the U.S, and they were determined to help fill the venue.
"As someone who is familiar with those teams, will I be watching them at 700 pm on my couch? You betcha. How often do I get to watch rugby league on primetime tv? They could have west tigers v west tigers and Id watch"
Good on you. By coincidence I was thinking of your user name the other day and how I hadn`t seen it for a while, it always intrigued me, what exactly does it mean ?
