Lol . I played it just other codes. But must admit I didn't enjoy the lack of tackling and running with the ball that was par for the course playing this code. Rugby league and soccer were far more enjoyable.

Please don’t disrespect football, it’s association football.

Soccer in Australia champ! I know their is a push to change this termin Oz, however Australia having a number of football codes necessitates distinct naming of codes. Especially as major football codes(popularity wise also use football in their description ) And as a soccer fan whom has also played the game, I like soccer! It's distinct and culturally accepted in a friendly way by Aussies in general.

Disrespectful, by your own logic not mine.

No its not. Where appropriate the most distinct name of the code should be used. For example Rugby league, rugby union, Australian rules(AFL), & soccer in Australia. Everyone knows what it is and we all move on. That's the way it is in OZ, however I'm aware of the attempt to change this naming culture. Not sure if it's really a positive one for soccer? Think most Aussies are very comfortable with soccer being called soccer.

Most Aussie football fans detest it.
So if you’re happy for this to be a local norm
In Australia why do you lecture kiwis on their naming protocols?

No no no no! I have asserted that this rivalry in union would not have blossomed had top-flight rugby league enjoyed a local derby rivalry (Norths v Manly ) Without this the poorly catered for locals search for other outlets with a local union rivalry benefitting.
And their has been absolutely nothing that has debunked any of my observations. Sure I've seen tainted union loving deflection but nothing to negate such observations at all.

Your assertion is wrong because the rivalry you are citing is specific to the northern beaches and it has nothing to do with north sydney who don't have a rivalry with anyone despite your claim they are all dormant league fans.

Lol . The locals of Manly and North Sydney had a distinct and longtime rivalry with eacother . To suggest this did not occur and does not matter in cultural relevance for this region is shear lunacy on your part.

Was it a conspiracy orchestrated by rugby union?

If you research into the actions rugby union has done to limit rugby league then it's not beyond their strategic aim to stop/weaken rugby league. I suggest you read the book "The Forbidden Game" by Mike Rylance and also a telltale piece on what rugby union has been doing to limit rugby league in South Africa by NZ journalist Drinean. I'm sure you won't do this but they are examples of union's widespread efforts to constrain/contain and weaken rugby league in various areas around the world.

The answer is there champ. I'm of the belief that super league was a well constructed plot to divide the strongest and most popular rugby competition (which happened to be rugby league) in the world. Their is a motive and means of doing such a despicable act and given the track record of union acting against rugby league, it's a reasonable summation. Rugby league in AUSTRALIA was doing well until the Superleague fiasco rared it's ugly head. News ltd which financed the codes split had also newly made strong ties with union. In fact the owner has publicly expressed is dislike for rugby league! (elite private school educated ofcourse!) For years union had been trying to usurp rugby league in Australia head on but couldn't do so. So they decided a divide and conquer tact through superleague was worth it. I've provided a motive , means and end result. You figure it out!?

Are you saying Rugby league isn’t doing well in Australia now?

If wasn't for State Of Origin there would not be any television money and the game would be on it's knees.Apart from Brisbane and N Queensland the rest of the games are poorly attended.
