Funny how Batley seems to have logged off and you have logged on.

Farcical or factual? I would suggest that this declaration was a participation document more so than an attempt to somehow bind you to one sport as no school sporting competition actually has the ability to do such a thing.

Didn't occur with the other ten sports I played that year!? This elderly bloke questioned before my signing. "You're getting paid to play rugby league on the weekends? " I replied "Yes" And then has crossed sign the declaration unlike the other sports I played that year.

No. The fact a genuine rugby league local derby is no more had created a scenario whereby other codes can capitalise on this .That's the summation that's valid. If the Bears were playing Manly on top flight rugby league then the local derby relevance appetite would have been satisfied for the general public. Now they are going to local union to satisfy this "derby" scenario.

What does the derby bring to the NRL TV deal?
What would the derby do in terms of raising the season average attendance of the NRL as a whole?
What national sponsorship would the derby bring to the NRL?
In other words, Brisbane, Perth, NZ2 (to a lesser extent) will all pay for themselves in the NRL - how will the Bears pay for their place in the NRL?

That makes no sense. What reason would he have had to even bother asking whether you were getting paid to play League? What reason would he have even had to suspect that was the case? Your story has more holes in it than Swiss cheese.

And you played ten sports that year. Clearly you weren't any good at either of them because at the same age my Rugby and League commitments occupied my 5 weekdays both in the morning (strength and conditioning) and evening (field work and skills) and my whole Saturday and during State Championships when I played my age grade on top of Colts my Sunday. I had a total of 4 weeks off a year.

Then of course I had school and homework/study. We're talking 14 hour days between school and sport. Any other sports weren't an option. I tried to maintain Cricket until I was 16 but that just wasn't sustainable. Are you talking about intramural sport?

No you chose to sign that form. There was no requirement for you to do so at all. You’re tainted by union.

I was told I had to sign it or else I would not be able to play the game. As a team.player I did so. But still told my Dad that night of the experience and he thought it was odd a sport required such a signing on order for a student to play. Bog brother

Glad you brought up sponsorship. I think the influential and powerful North Sydney CBD would welcome the chance to sponsor the North Sydney Bears. The Bears were and would be still very popular in this (one of the biggest)business precinct of Sydney.

Really? They hada bid going for quite a while, which companies letters of intent? Isn't your whole argument that RU have the top end of town sewn up?

How about how they would affect the TV ratings and league attendance average?

You whimpy snotty nosed. driven weasel f**kwit! Get back to me when you have been a trialist for an NRL club. Going through that process would have well and truelly weeded a pretender like you out. I just missed out .Top 30 out of an original squad of 300. Some footballing freaks were cut before I was. And you come up with that! You are a pretender. And a non tackling one at that. My word your little bubble of patheticness! How well has it kept you hidden/insulated from reality. You would not even have made an NRL trial squad (I'll throw in local league as well)you non tackling f**kwit! Keeping nice and cosy in your continued refusal of fact relating to the despicable repression of a more deserving rugby code in rugby league. You waste of space!

Thought you would crap on.From memory some big ones were involved with the Bears: AVCO FINANCE, CITIBANK ETC. Now there is no opportunity. No top flight club in North Sydney these days!

Any sources to back that up?

Have a look at North Sydney Bears jumpers at the time. I've got a photo of myself playing a preseason trial against the Bears in 1987. Think AVCO was on their jumper . Players like Freddy Teasdale were running around for the Bears..

Spewing insults is confirmation of your inability to actually rebut my post. As in when someone is incapable of actually forming a coherent argument or is trying to maintain an delusion they lash out with bile and insults. You're mentally/emotionally unwell.

I'm talking about their bid to return to the NRL under Greg Florimo. Which companies signed letters of intent to sponsor the bid should they have gained admittance?

And, what would the club do for increasing the overall attendance of the NRL and increasing the value of the TV deal?

I'd suggest they would be flush with sponsors and interest if the NRL gave it the respect and intention it deserves. But we are failed by an insular thinking NRL.

So you chose to sign it, there was no need or had to at all. Your a union bigot and you can’t even see it.

Now the problem you have with NS CBD is a lot of those companies are multinationals and they don’t give a shit about the Bears. North Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs are the same place to those types of companies. Perhaps some would get onboard but I think a top draw CEO would have more to do with it than the geography of a few miles.

Strange response! And very odd!? Can't exactly join up your dots! A warped and confused message is extrapolated. My word we have some oddities on this site. SHOOTING THE MESSENGER IS ONE YOUR PASTIMES. It’s definitely not a sport as you have proven to be unsportsmanlike to the nth degree. But "pastime" yes. You do that deflection and ignoramus thing very adeptly!

Eastern Suburbs Roosters 1986. I met Artie Beetson on the Tuesday after the open day trial in January.I was a player of the year of my local district club in Newcastle.

So you trialled for the Winfield Cup back when it was the NSWRL competition and not the NRL which didn't come into being until 1998.
