I've got $1.2 million in the bank now, so I'm going to look at making the first of my 2 planned off season signings (yes, i know, it's not the off season yet). i'm hoping to sign an excellent defender and an outstanding scorer.

That might be enough to buy you an excellent defender with some reasonablke secondaries. I paid $2.4m for an outstanding scorer earlier this season and you'll have to save for a while. The average is probably closer to $3.0m. You might pick up someone cheaper if you're prepared to put a nasty older player in your squad.
never... i'll just keep on saving up.

Unfortunately, the Oceanian U20 team was knocked out of the WC two weeks ago. It was agonisingly close, we did our part in beating Germany but we also needed the Vietnam team to beat Wales and that ended in a draw (despite Vietnam being the slightly better team). This means that the 19 and 20yo's were dropped from the squad. Pedro's national career was cut brutally short.

And just to top off last week, Pedro was injured in the match against Germany, resulting in him missing his first week of training since he was pulled almost three seasons ago now.

hey guys, just wonering. what would happen if you mots'd the last game of the season. obviously its the end of the season, and to me, wouldnt matter. except maybe effect how the troops play in friendlies.

anyone elses thoughts would be great, i was just thinking about it, i'd be able to see the best my players are capable of at the moment, and i could rack up a real scoreline! not that i need to.
As long as you don't have to play a qualifier (in which case you save the MOTS for that), most people generally MOTS the last game of the season. Your team spirit gets reset over the off-season, so it'll be back on composed at the beginning of the next season no matter what you do.

i've also noticed when talking about my side i refer us the word 'we' and instead of 'i'. have i become a bit too attached to my players???

Hey guys. Mambo here checking in on my old stomping ground.

Bad news about Havoc. We are heading back to division 5 despite having formidable players and better across most of the park. Just haven't been able to set my lineups. I'd give my side away just to keep the team alive if it was within the rules. Sad to see its demise.

On the plus side, looks like some of the old 'newbie' teams have really matured. Thats great for the reputation of this thread lol!!!! And some of the results are very credible. I'm so proud :sob:

Its kind of funny coming back here. I'm just a retired yesterdays hero nowadays. But dammit i'll hold onto past glories if i have to :D

Keep on hattricking.

Question;

Is there any point listing players for transfer now or should I wait until the start of the next season.

I've got a 21 year old central back who just went up to Outstanding defence. Should I list him now and fight the transfter frenzy or should I wait til the start of next season and just hack that he'll move up to 22years old?

I'm thinking about possibly holding on to him until the end of my Oceania Cup campain.

Right now I have two outstanding, two formiable and an excellent defenders in my line up. If I keep that, I should be able to rake in some good money from the cup... there isn't any major difference between 21 and 22 years old anyway

yeh. i've got a 19 year old who'll be a formidable playmaker next friday with a little luck. that will take me too, 3 formidable playermakers, and 2 excellent (who aren't far off of formidible. the plan has always been to sell off the one who is about the pop next week, so that with a little luck i'll be able to afford an outstanding striker.

Well, against the bottom side I nearly blew it after I opted to field my mid weekers. We needed a point to ensure 3rd place. Had we lost and 4th placed Panthers89 won we would have dropped to 3rd. As it happened Panthers were ahead 3-0. I was down 2-1, only for Ismael Vidal to save us with an 87th minute equaliser. So 3rd is how it finished for us. Not a bad effort if you ask me.

Now that that's over, hopefully my full strength side can help salvage some pride in the LU Cup. I fkn hope they can get something from it.

I lost 1-3 to 2nd last. My side was totally destroyed because I played 5-4-1 for the first time... I didn't have much of an option. I'm now have to play off against a bot side which averages 1.5 stars a player.

I won 7-0 to wrap up the automatic promotion spot. And the Div IV that I'm promoting to seems to be a fairly easy league (it was ranked 51 out of the 64 Div IV's this season), with some luck I should be able to finish in the top three in my first season. Coincidentally, the other team that is auto-promoting to the league is the champion of Chile's league.

So I can finally say goodbye to V.88.

You'll probably get more for him at the start of next season. The transfer market is quite low at the moment, thanks to a combo of a couple of seasons of depression and the fact that a lot of teams are putting all their money into upgrading their stadium before the prices double again.

Hey guys, I haven't been here for a while, to busy at work. Just thought I'd let you know that I won my division and have a tricky qualifying game next week. I'm a bit worried about it because it's another bloody midfield trainer so we'll see how it goes.
