VICTORY!!!!! The Suns have pulled a 6-5 victory against the best team in my insane div VI League, after losing 6-0 to them last time. Im extremely impressed with the suns at the moment, 3 star average currently!

My perfect start to the season continues with a good 3-0 win. That means my goal tally is 18-0 over four games, albeit seven of those goals came in the first cup match against a computer team. But my defence is holding up well, if I can keep the opposition scoreless I've always got the chance to score myself (god, my Wolves sound like Chelsea :( ).

The thing which peeved me off was I finally got my first home game of the season to test my new 70k stadium, and it rained. Result = 33 000 attendance when I was hoping for +50k. Now I have to wait for another two weeks for my next home game.

Because once players go over 30, they no longer can receive benefits from training and their stats will drop.

For some reason my 31 yr old forwards stamina went down from formidable to excellent, and I even trained for stamina last week.

Why would have this happened?

Formidable Stamina is only a short term situation at any rate. If a player is at formidable stamina and you train stamina it will return to excellent the next week.

Yes Indeed...Thats what happened to one of my Midfields, i trained stamina for 3 weeks in the off, and he went up to Formidable, then strait back down to excellent the next week, lol  Neways, who here is still in the cup, lets get the LU cup bak up and running!

Not technically true. Players will always recieve training no matter how old they are, but they will basically take 1 week longer every year they are over 18. Actually, it's a bit less than that, probably closer to two thirds of a week. So once the players go to 22 or so it just isn't really profitable to train them any further as it'll take too long.

But yes, once a player reaches 27 or 28 their skills can start to drop. The older they are, the more likely it is to happen. You won't often see someone under 30 losing stats, but once you get to 32 or 33 you will start to see it happen a bit more. But it still isn't too common. I've got 8 players who are 31 or older, and over the last few seasons they've dropped a total of eight levels, quite often in stats that they didn't even use. And five of those eight were to my two 35yo's.

Formidable stamina is the highest you can get, and it does tend to drop when you train stamina again. It's always been possible to reach formidable stamina, but I'm not sure just how much more effective it is than excellent.

There's still a few of us in the cup (and I personally am hoping to go at least one, hopefully two, more rounds), but I'll probably start arranging everything tomorrow, seeing who will be taking part and such. Although I might not have the time to put as much effort into it as what I have the last few seasons, a new girlfriend does tend to take up a significant amount of time.

The attendance money is always split 50/50 for friendlies.

Whether we use the new neutral grounds option, I'm not sure yet. It's probably sensible so that teams don't get the home ground advantage of the midfield boost (although I'm not sure whether friendlies have that either).

oh yeah i'm there baby..

and 25 minutes in, i'm 4 nil up!!!.... ok down.. actually it was 4 nil after no more than 15 minutes.
i'm playing PIC against a much stronger div 3 opponent. so i hope it should pay off with the boost to TS for the league, which is obviously the most important part of our season! when you are down here anyways!

I'm still in the Oceania Cup (although that may change in an hour  ) but I'm keen as ever to be in the LU Cup as the defending champion :p

Well done. My 17yrs have got a way to go still. End of season they will get that stamina training they so dearly need.

Can anyone help me defeat this hardcore Div2 side with an insane midfield but a poor backline? He was using a half star keeper and it wasn't a sub either
