For what ever its worth
I think the MRC got it spot on with the raiders players charges
I would think the club will take the plea on all of them. There is really no defence we could mount. Just have to cop it on the chin
Atleast they can feel like they got justifiable binnings (and send off) even if those tackles a week ago would have been penalised at worst.
A few cases where the decision wasn't horrible... Although i think Papalii was only a binning rather than a send off.
If these were the standard it would be acceptable. But how can they justify binning a guy trying to avoid dangerous contact when a player falls in headbutting his chest? A lottery is the only way to describe these rules. They are influencing games in a massive way aswell.
They need to bring back 5 minute binnings for these lottery decisions. So teams arent punished too severely when a guy falls over and headbutts them.
5 mins for contact where the defender had no way to avoid contact.
10 minutes for the contact where it's the defenders fault but isnt too bad.
Send off for the absolute worst tackles.
Still wouldn't like it being such a lottery. But they need to reduce the punishment on players who simply couldnt avoid the head contact.
