Just heard. Dammit. I hope he recovers. Not just football wise, but in his personal life.

In January we need to buy a midfielder. That would also allow Jones to go back into the defence (probably at right back) and Smalling can help cover Vidic.

As for who to buy, no idea. Eriksson from Ajax has been mentioned, and Sandro from Spurs but we will see.

Wireman, do you think we need a holding mid?

We don't really play with a holding mid. However we now have only got Carrick who can play that defensive role well. Jones can do a job but is not a natural there. Giggs does not have the legs anymore, Gibson is well Gibson.

If Cleverly and Anderson can get, then stay fit then we will be fine, but that is a big if at the moment. One i don't think we can afford to take a risk on.

We need a solid midfielder who can pass the ball a bit.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone pays someone off to get United back in, such is the nature of football these days.
But this won't go any further surely.

Well IIRC Feyenoord were booted out of the UEFA Cup many years ago and their opponents received a bye. If ManUre are reinstated then we know just how corrupt UEFA and FIFA really are but I won't lose sleep over having to play scrubs like Evans.

Well we went top for a few hours.

Very good performance. Welbeck is gonna be a superstar, and Rooney looks so much better when playing with a partner up top.

As for the champs league, i don't want to go back in, we got knocked out. We will use this and come back better next year.

We need Cleverley back to really fire. Him and Carrick working together in centre midfield should be good, especially given Carrick's current form.

Best game I've seen from Jonny Evans against QPR. Perhaps there is a decent footballer trapped in there after all. I'll need to see a fair bit more evidence to be convinced though.

Of course he is a decent footballer. Everyone goes on about mistakes like he is the only defender to make any. Yet no-one ever gives examples. He is scape goated for every problem we have.

Looking for Cleverly to return, if he can get a good partnership going with Carrick then we are looking good.
Jones has a good partnership, but is a limited midfielder. He can run around a lot. But he is a good player to have as backup. I actually see him as our (and Englands) future rightback. I'd think about resting him when Cleverly returns.

You want an example?
6-1.
What did dear Mr Evans do in that game?
Every football fan I've seen, talked to or listened to thinks he is terrible.

He does cop a lot more criticism than he deserves but compared to United's other defenders he is garbage, which is a shame when Vidic, Ferdinand and co have all suffered big injuries.
Hopefully he can improve, there is a good player waiting beneath anyone's skin. He needs some luck and confidence and he can go from there.
With United's injuries, I hope he improves.

He got sent of at 1-0. Then we conceded another 5 goals without him in the defence.

So yeah, thats a good example of us falling to pieces without him, but doesn't help the 'he is garbage' argument one little bit.

Try the 'he was part of the defence that helped Van De Sar keep the record amount of continous clean sheets in Uniteds history' argument.

Get some new football friends to quote bud, the ones you have are a bit clueless.

Yeah, only 1-nil. His team was in the game before he decided to he'd do his thing.
How many times has he done crap like that? How many free headers does he miss, like the one the other day?
How many times did he appear in that defence? Alongside Vidic, Evra, the twins, Rio and in front of one of the best goalkeepers of all time?

I've got quite a few to quote buddy :lol::lol:
We were utterly shit. And I never want to see Jonny Evans in a United shirt again.

Jonny Evans is world class, better than Gerard Pique, just ask Wireman

f**king Jonny f**king Evans is as f**king useles as f**king tits on a f**king bull. I never want to see him in a United shirt again, unless it's against some League 2 mob in the Carling Cup. The rest of the team were shit as well (except for Rooney), but Evans just has a special ability to come up with something stupid. I think our best back 4 is frankly Jones/Smalling-Smalling/Jones-Vidic-Rafael/Fabio. Ferdinand and Evra both need a firecracker up their dates.

It seems weird, but I think we're missing Cleverly badly. He has that creative spark that no-one else in our midfield does (except for Rooney when he drops back).

I also think our main problem is we have a young team who had it too easy to start the year and started reading their own press. They're now getting a lesson in the hard work that is required to be successful.

So I take it I'm not the only one that cringe's every time I see Jonny f**king Evan's name on the team sheet?

No wonder I always sell Evans in Football Manager.... FMD

So every Manure fan can see how shit Evans is? Almost all

Of course he is a decent footballer. Everyone goes on about mistakes like he is the only defender to make any. Yet no-one ever gives examples. He is scape goated for every problem we have.

Had to quote that post again. No examples, gee, you must be blind when pretty much every United fan under the sun sees that he is nowhere near the quality of United's other CBs.
As I said, hopefully he comes good. If not, better hope Fergie gets some midfield recruits so Jones can move back to partner Rio or whoever else is there.
