Maybe United should have treated Owen's injury report a little more seriously....

His groin is GONE again.
It was one of those 50/50 decisions, so with him saying he was fine Fergie decided to start him. Should only be out for about 2 weeks, so hopefully he'll be fit for the Liverpool game.

Berbatov was fantastic when he came on for Owen in our 2-1 win. Up to that point Wolfsburg were on top, but the instant he came on he started causing chaos for their midfield and defence. Not quite so good in the second half, but he still could easily have had three or four assists.

Also, thankfully Carrick finally started to hit form. Easily his best match of the season, and his final half an hour was back to his normal form where he just comfortably controlled us around the park. Topped it off with a good goal as well. Hopefully he plays again on the weekend so he can get into a good rhythm.

What happened against Sunderland? Surely there must come a point where relying on late winners/equalisers comes back to bite you in the arse.

edit: Bad news guys. Some Arsenal-supporting wanker has declared in the Chelsea thread that we are not a threat this season because our midfield will wilt under the pressure of injuries and fatigue. Oh well, time to start thinking about next season. How much of Ronaldo's fee is still in the bank?

He's already repaid the 0.0m pounds we paid for him...

Sunderland was a bad day at the office for everyone. Even Rooney and Scholes couldn't pass straight.

If we do spend in January i can see it being a winger. Valencia, Nani, Obertan, Tosic etc. all offer great potential but i feel we can't have two developing players, one winger has to be doing better, its a bit bad that Giggs is miles better than the lot. He is supposed to be winding down and used less!

On a similar topic, i don't know whats happening with Tosic. He looks good when i have seen him, but he appears to have dropped out of sight. He is 22 now, he may end up being sold in summer i feel.

I finally ended up watching the recording of the Sunderland game a couple of days ago. I wish I could have that 2 hours of my life back. The worst I've seen United play in a long time.

Last night was better, although for some weird reason we went to putty after they scored. We dead set should have won by 4 or 5 goals though given the chances we created. How bloody good was our build-up play though? Neville and Valencia on the right, Giggs and Evra on the left, and Owen and Berbatov in the middle all had blinders, especially Giggs. A pity the finishing let down the good play. HAving said all that, Bolton did murder a couple of gift-wrapped chances themselves, so perhaps we should be content with 2-1. Certainly better than lolChel$ski's and lolScousers' results.

Definitely a better performance but the same old story of we should've put them to rest well before that late goal.

How good is Giggs going? Really tore Ricketts a new one down the left all day. It's kind of scary though just how much we're relying on a 35 year old to spark our attack.

Seems as though the great Fernando Torres has taken it upon it himself to do the footballing world a public service and "liquidate" Manchester United's "premier" defenders.

Date - 14.03.2009. Target - Nemanja Vidic. Status - Terminated

Date - 25.10.2009. Target - Rio Ferdinand. Status - Terminated

Someone get Johnny Evans a bodyguard...

Tbh I thought Vidic was decent and got unlucky from getting a soft first yellow.

Ferdinand is the worry imo. He's been shown up quite a bit in recent times

Also would like to get some more of my Rooney man love out.

While he didn't have a great game, one of the things I love about him is that even when his team isn't going great or when he hasn't scored a goal, his output never wanes.

Why did the guy have to choose United....

Time to hit the delete button on the Foxtel box I'm thinking. Oh what a blessing to be away last night and miss that!

good riddons, always thought Nani was overrated, thats what happens when you open your mouth instead of trying to win a spot in the team
