Korea beats Belgium 3-1 in the hockey.

Standings now: Spain 9, Korea 7, NZ 6, Germany 5, Belgium 1, China 0

NZ play bottom-placed China tonight, whilst Spain play Germany. NZ have to take care of business. If they do, they go to 9.

Assuming NZ win, it's tough to say what the best scenario of the other game for NZ is. Spain win, they go to 12 and Germany are out of the medals on 5 points. That may mean NZ gets a weakened Germany on Tuesday, but it may also mean Spain rest their guys against Korea.

Germany win, and assuming NZ win, the table is as follows: Spain 9, NZ 9, Germany 8, Korea 7

Then it's NZ/Germany and Spain/Korea on Tuesday. NZ would then only need a draw to progress.

Don't think I have ever been so impressed with a Bronze medal, Mahe, you are a legend

Him after the race will go down in history alongside Craig Barrett in KL

ugh, that's a terrible comparison

Mahe is arguably the best in the world, suffered incredible bad luck to be in such bad health on the day of the biggest race of his life, and still battled to the finish for a medal

Barrett, against the far weaker Commonwealth competition, piked out due to bad strategy and lack of ability.

Apparently Barrett was drinking pure water throughout the race, that wasn't even pure. It was thought water intoxication was a cause of his collapse. He didn't even have any sports drinks.

And in the Men's Team Pursuit, the Kiwis will be battling with the Aussies tomorrow for bronze!

A little disappointing IMO. We were 2nd qualifier, but by overlapping Spain during the race, it slowed us up.

The Danes went from 4th to 2nd and we slipped from 2nd to 3rd.

Hopefully we claim the bronze.

Simon Child scores for NZ nearing halftime. China leading 2-1 at halftime. NZ still have a chance. A win here puts them in the drivers seat heading into the final round of games.

Loss, and you could almost forget about it.

Black Sticks keep medal hopes alive

http://tvnz.co.nz/content/2011190

The men's Black Sticks team has fought back from being two goals down to draw 2-2 with China.

Late in the first half Shea McAleese pegged back the deficit but it took a Simon Child equaliser with just 15 minutes to go to keep New Zealand's chances alive of qualifying for the semi-finals.

They are now tied with Korea on sevens point at the top of Group A and the Germans are on five points.
The Black Sticks next play Germany on Tuesday in their final pool game in a match that will decide their fate

Just on the Show Jumping, as a team, currently the NZ's are 3rd, individualy though, 1 rider is 7th, the other two are 31 and 32 respectively with one more on the team to ride, and still a few other teams yet to come out and compete
