The Place Where We Discuss Diaries

Im playing a game based in 2001 whereby I take ECW from damn near bankruptcy, no tv deal and having lost the majority of its stars to WWF and WCW, to the forefrunt of cutting edge professional wrestling. Right now, I've been playing the game from Jan 2001 till July 2001, just got a tv deal at some low rating station (remember, with an 80% risk factor its difficult to get a deal), almost about to go global.

I currently have Tommy Dreamer as ECW Champ, who also held the TV title but lost it in a unifaction match with Steve Corino, who then lost the Undisputed championship to Yoshihiro Tajiri (released from WWF) who then lost it to Dreamer. He is fueding with a young jujitsu based monster by the name of Samoa Joe.

I also have a returned Buh Buh Ray Dudley (signed from WWF on a lucrative deal) fueding with former NFL superstar Monty Brown, who is in a stable with former College football star/bodybuilder, "The Prototype" John Cena. Cena is fudeing with ECW legend, The Sandman.

I also have Tajiri fueding with Christopher Daniels, a tag team division featuring The Future (current tag champs, any of the three can wrestle - Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas & Russ Haas), The Briscoes (Mark & Jay), The Chi Town Express (CM Punk & Colt Cabana), XXXPlosion! (Frankie Kazarian & Paul London), The ECW Legends ("Quoth' The Pheonix" John Pheonix & "The Half Freakin' Show" Nick Dinsmore) amongst the top teams.

Perhaps my biggest fued, however, is with Paul Heyman and a disgraced WCW & WWF wrestler, who was released by WCW in 2000 (I think?), and has a lot of frustration to vent.

I wont reveal to much more, as I plan to do a diary very shortly.

That sounds good. I do enjoy just creating a new fed with no wrestlers, no staff and not much money, and just starting up a game at backyard level. it is fun to try and make it global, something i haven't done yet

I am over the diary I was doing which is the TNA Merging with WWE one, but I was thinking of doing a new one of the WWE from starting in April 2005, just after Wrestlemania 21... the one where Batista and Cena won the title, and it was also the first Money in the bank. Would you guys be interested in this as a diary?

I'll give people until around 1pm tomorrow to post predictions in my new diary, then I'll post Wrestlemania results and roll on with Raw, Smackdown, and ECW. With new general managers planned for both Raw and ECW, as well as the 2009 Draft and the return of the European Title - expect a big week of action!

Looking forward to it!

I hope you reinvigorate the tag division, and it looks as if you're beginning to with the match on your Wrestlemania card. Cool.

I hope I win the comp...I know exactly who I'm going to choose...

God Damn. I never realised how hard it would be to write a MITB match until now. And I just know I didn't do it justice. Eight people is too many!

Got some huge plans in store that I am quite excited about. Particularly a renewed feud between Jericho/HBK, the boosting of Matt Hardy towards being a top tier talent, and the rebirth of Extreme.

There was a diary on EWbattleground which had an awesome rebirth of ECW. I think it was something along the lines of "A little more extreme, a little less WWE" or somesh*t. Was excellent.

With my diary, I appreciate if people are not aware of a lot of the characters, but I do recommend you wikipedia some of the names, particularly the main eventers, as they will feature prominantly. I will be reinventing/developing a lot of the ones who may not be as strong, so it shouldnt take long for people to get used to them.

McGuinness dropping the title, allows me to set Danielson up as top face and build younger heels up, whereas McGuinness had his run of champ (18months), and I feel it is now time to use his character to build up some credible young faces. Expect Austin Aries to kick some ass too.

I'm not doing a Diary but I am playing the game as the WWE. My main story line is a heel stable (CM Punk, Jack Swagger, John Morrison, Miz and Angelina Love). CM Punk is fueding with HBK(they just had a 5 star match at mania in their first bout), Swagger is IC champ, Miz and Morrison tag champs..

Regal is ECW Champ
Taker is WWE Champ
Y2J is Heavyweight champ

So Im booking a regional promotion, immediately after WCW was bought out by the WWE. Focussing on athletic talent. A few WCW cast offs. A few indy no names. A few future stars. Would anybody be interested in reading the diary version?

New episode of iMPACT! is up, featuring World X Cup action, a World X Division championship match, a huge six man tag team main event between Rob Van Dam, James Storm and Robert Roode up against Christopher Daniels, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. The episode also features Homicide, the Beautiful People, Daffney, ODB, Homicide, Matt Morgan, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Check it out!

Seeing as Misanthrope and I seem to be the only ones who utilise this part of the wrestling forum, I thought I'd give my thoughts on his latest TNA diary attempt, in a little more detail, in the hopes that it may persuade others to view and hopefully comment on what they like/didnt like - that is what really drives BTB writing, interaction!

The backstory
Frightengly realistic to be honest, and we can all se this happening. The solution, however, is something that TNA will not deserve should they fail. They dug their own grave etc. However, Chris is a forgiving sort of chap, and he's given them six weeks to sort their sh*t out.

TNA iMPACT

Segment One - Heyman debuts
Brilliant. Paul E. is one of the great minds, and great onscreen characters of the business, and having him show up at the dawn of a new era (though it reeked of WWECW - not a bad thing may I add) iwas written well. His interaction with Flair was kind of meh, to be honest. However, it served its purpose - setting up the main event for the pay per view coming up (cool name by the way, I own an ROH titled Reborn, which is brilliant...intersting piece of trivia :p ) and AJ entering at number one is a great little addition two. In true Heyman fashion, we get an awesome openeing match up.

Segment Two - Daniels v Styles v Joe
Can't comment on the match write up, as it was non existant, but I dont care, we've seen enough of all three to know this would be a fantastic reintroduction to what the REAL TNA stands for. Joe to fued with Styles perhaps? Cant wait for what the two get up to in their Rumble, I mean Gauntlet (come up with a name that doesnt reek of Russo, my challenge for the day ;-) ) build up/match itself.

Segment Three - Debut of John Layfield
Shocking to say the least, I was half expecting Jim Ross. But this is better. This is good. I like Bradshaw behind the desk, he reminds me, and Im sure is inspired by, Jess the Body Ventura. Commentary gold.

Segment Four - AJ/Flair hanging out backstage
Didn't like it, but at the same time, it is something that TNA would do as it follows on from where they have been going with Flair mentoring AJ and I actually enjoyed it because of its realism! Also nice building up to the Gauntlet once more.

Segment Five - Everyone wants a slice of Heyman
People asking the questions everyone legitamately wants answered - I like it, though would prefer if Nash wasn't in there, did you run out of available talent on the sim? Foley/Heyman interaction was ok, though would prefer if Foley didnt get back in the ring though if you manage to build something creative from it, and I think you will, it does serve a good purpose. Glad Roode got some airtime though.

Segment Six - Booker T returns
Nice little surprise. Well booked too, nothing fancy and so it shouldn't be.

Segment Seven - Foley v Roode, Hardcore match
I'm sure it would have stunk, but I'll give you credit that its not on PPV and saw the debut of Tommy, great little segment. Sucks that Foley went over Roode though, I would have went for a Roode win, and after a beatdown from BMI, have Tommy run to his aid. Are you setting up an ECW invasion maybe? If so...Raven pleeeeeease hahahaha

Segment Eight - The Band
They're still on my screens, it served a purpose and both are good on the mic, I dont care what anyone thinks! But...shouldn't Nash have featured here?

Segment Nine - GOLDBERG!
Goldberg demolishes Scott Hall - I, and every other TNA fan, can dig it.

Segment Ten - Goldberg kills Waltman
Yup, classic Goldberg squash and he wipes out Waltman. Awesome.

Segment Eleven - LAX v MCMGs
More exhibitioning of what TNA stands for. This match would have been fantastic, and I have no problem with the Guns going over here. Both play face, and I suspect we will get a heel team or two for them to fued with. I suspect Londrick, which would be veeeerrrry cool.

Segment Twelve - The Pope/Booker T confrontation
Everything about this was awesome. Pope makes a humourous suggestive comment toward Sharmell, cue: Booker catchphrase. More Pope suggestiveness, cue: Sharmell hissy fit and she wears the pants. Pope challenges Booker at Rebirth, though we done get his answer, setting up for more interaction next week. Probably the best thing about this diary atm, and thank f**k hes not in the main event - he doesnt deserve to be. I hope Booker gets some heat though, I cant see him playing face if they fued.

Segment Thirteen - Angle/Hardy/Abyss v Sting/Anderson/Wolfe
I liked the use of video packages to hype the guys people wont know, and the teaming them up with veterans/household names is a very good move. The match itself wouldnt be much, but it would be a good television main event. Another "Why Sting Why" moment to lead to the conclusion, which does my head in but at the same time I give you credit for continuing on with what TNA has been doing. Faces going over always goes down a treat on a debut episode too, well done.

Very enjoyable read Chris, well done. I suspect the Rock will join Foley in some way which would provide a DYNAMITE fued with Beer Money. Who else will debut? Hmmm, depends if you've stolen any WWE guys, though I guarantee Monty Brown will be there!
