Agreed, but then that's between them and the employer. Accusations of bigotry have no place.
So then I revert back to the Indigenous scenario I posed earlier. If 7 of our players stood themselves down on indigenous round, is your position that itā€™s between the club and them, and accusations of bigotry have no place. The only difference here is that the current issue that has associations with the LGTBQIA+ Community make you (and others) less comfortable.

But what about unity and tolerance for the players beliefs??? Or donā€™t their beliefs count???

And this is coming from someone who thinks all forms of organised religion is stupid. I donā€™t agree with their beliefs but they still have a right to believe them. The Manly marketing department thought it was a fantastic idea to score some extra likes from the blue check marks on Twitter with some virtue signalling. I bet they didnā€™t even think of what their players might think. Because who cares about what they believe.
Theyā€™re absolutely entitled to their beliefs and they are tolerated though. If Manly or the Eels were sponsored by Hillsong, Iā€™d expect all the players to wear the jersey.

So now you are gonna just decide anyone who doesnt agree with what you are saying is doing so because they are uncomfortable with the LGTBQIA+ Community?

Not at all. Pou said himself that people are less likely to accept lifestyles that buck traditional values.

Well no thats the entire problem .... Manly didnt read the room and decided to dictate what the room thinks ... and unfortunately made an issue where it never had to occur
Don't agree. It's a conversation that had to be had. What's going to happen when an openly gay person is about to be picked in NRL ? Will they refuse to play with him ?

Tolerance is a 2 way street. You can't demand to be respected and whilst not being tolerant of others.

Can someone please explain exactly what the rainbow represents? It seems to have many different meanings to many different people. Some say it's inclusive, inclusive of what exactly? A new colour seems to be added every month meaning they found someone else to include that wasn't included before. Some people view the rainbow as a promotion of a sexual lifestyle. Does it surprise anyone really that some people who hold conservative views on sex aren't really keen on promoting a lifestyle 'they' don't wish to live. Some say the rainbow means acceptance, some say the rainbow means celebration.

Is there a clear meaning?

But they were tolerating others. Demanding that they celebrate something they don't support is intolerance.

Isn't the Manly 7's issue that they don't want to be seen 'endorsing' (for want of a better term) publicly homosexuality. Not necessarily that they wouldn't include such a player in their team or the NRL in general, but more the point that they don't want to be seen as a billboard promoting that persuasion???

I'm likely way off the mark, I haven't been able to keep up with all of the shenanigans in this area this week. I've got a job and a family FFS!!!

No of course not ..... its not about that at all .... you cant seem to tell the difference
Or maybe you can't ? There seems to be a significant contribution to this argument by the "you can't force me to do that brigade". News flash to them: it's just about acknowledging that some people are different to you and that's OK. It's not that hard.

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles represent inclusiveness.

We do not discriminate between an individualā€™s race, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or anything else that we should be celebrating collectively as an evolved society.

We respect all individuals.

These values and beliefs were the motivation behind why we wanted to create a jersey that represented EVERYONE IN LEAGUE.

Have you any evidence that they didn't accept gay people? No. But acceptance just isn't enough for some.

Well there's this ..

The seven ā€“ Josh Aloiai, Tolutau Koula, Haumole Olakauā€™atu, Jason Saab, Josh Schuster, Toafofoa Sipley and Christian Tuipulotu ā€“ are considering boycotting the round 20 clash on 28 July due to their ā€œreligious and culturalā€ convictions that oppose the endorsement of homosexuality.
